Question:Do we need to respect everyone who are older than us even though they aren't respecting us?

I agree with above. I don't care who you are - age/gender/status/race etc. has no bearing imo. If you respect me, I'll respect you. If you don't respect me, you can go fuck yourself.

 

I don't respect anyone who think that they deserve it because of age/job/gender/ or whatever else that doesn't prove he is a good person, can't even count how many of these entitled fucks i have told to go fuck themselves and they all gave me looks like i gangraped their whole family after that.

 

Depending on how old we're talking, they've probably earned the right to be disrespectful if it's as old as I'd imagine... But the generation that's just now starting to get old will probably never earn the right. lol

Also depends on "how" they're being disrespectful. Certain things being said/done is just too far, no matter what the age.


EDIT: Seems like posts before mine are MOSTLY about "entitled" people. I thought we were just talking about some grumpy old man being rude or 'speaking his mind' a little more than he should. There's a difference in being disrespectful and acting above others and/or entitled to things.

 

Agree with kreaated and tigeris, who gives a damn about age, if an "elder" wants to treat me like crap I will definitely not go out of my way to be nice to them, if you are a good person and have good intentions in life you will get the respect you deserve, otherwise you are asking for trouble.

 

I agree with the others on the difference between respect and being courteous.
But there's also a limit to how much Crap you can receive before all that goes out the window.

 

I always respect elderly people until they disrespect or insult me.
e.g. i was on the bus and i had a broken foot, an older woman came to me and started bitching about the fact that i didn't give my seat to her, in a case like this..well there's no way i will respect them anymore.

When i meet someone for the first time ever i have full respect for them, if they do disrespectfull things i lost alot of it for them.

 

We should however modern day kids dont respect who risked there lifes so we could have freedom
