Putting Music on my Xbox 360 Question.

I know how to put music on my 360, but only by putting in a disc and downloading the disc into the Xbox 360, but when I plug in my Iphone into the Xbox 360 and try to download from Portable Device section, the choice to click Portable Device is grayed out. Does it not detect Iphones?

I think it only works with iPods, not iPhones.

I haven't tried with my iPod yet, only with a PSP. I'll try tonight when I get back from home and tell you if it works with an iPod.

Putting Music on my Xbox 360 Question.

It doesn't work with Ipod touches or iPhones because they have the option to cancel syncing, there is no known way on how to fix this

I'm pretty sure Microsoft doesn't support Apple.. >_>

I can plug my Zune into my 360, and it works fine.

Zunes work the best but you can plug your ipod into it as well but you cannot keep any music from your ipod

Ok so you have an Iphone. Im pretty sure since the Iphone has other applications other than just music and videos then it will not work.

The Xbox 360 is compatible with any iPod with the exception of the iPod Touch and the iPhone

iPhone and iPod touch do not work
Yes, all Xbox 360's are iPod compatible. (Classic and under)
You cannot copy the songs off your iPod to your xbox. Only play them while your iPod is plugged in through the Xbox.

Putting Music on my Xbox 360 Question.

the easiest way without having to download the song onto the 360 is to set up media sharing through your windows PC, and allow the 360 access to your library list, this way you can play burned DVD avis, music, etc. from the 360 via your computer... And my guess for the iphone being incompatible would be because the iphone primarily is a camera, as detected by windows, and in order to sync it/read from it/etc. you need access to the specific apple USB interface, which I doubt apple would hand over to microsoft.

Use Zune software, WMP11, or WMC. Make sure media sharing is enabled. The Xbox and Computer need to be on the same network, and appropriate settings on both the Xbox and Computer need to be defined for it to work.
