put yourself in jagex's shoe's?

Remember this quote from the Social Network?

It is more important to be cool than it is to profit. And Jagex has shown that they know this. Now that they are producing updates like the recent "Refer a Friend" promotion, I predict that they are getting ready to dump Runescape.

Also, Mod Nexus said that they "Lose money from all the bots." Seeing as this is true, why not just ban them all? I find it hard to believe that Sythe.org, a CHEATING community, has more control over its members in than a multi-million dollar game company does.

 

The company is going to just go out of business, because less legit people will play, eventually causing less gold farmers to play, then to have the game at a standstill.
If the bots are removed, the game will continue on, thus generating more money in the long run.

 

Bots will always win in this. Nothing Jagex can do will stop bots forever, maybe a month tops but bots will always end out on top.

 

Its java they will always rule and Jagex can't really stop every bot no matter how hard they try. They just keep coming. But still I would rather be poor and loved. Money is great but being hated by everyone doesn't make any sense at all. There are so many mixed ideas as to where Runescape is going.

 

They can just claim copyright on all botting sites and fuck over the clients.
I think they should just ditch F2P.
-Instant P2P doesn't stop people from playing other games.
-The advertisers won't get P2P just to advertise(most won't).
-Cheap-ass bots will go away from the game.

They'll probably just ditch RS when their new MMO comes out.

I think RS is fine the way it is. The bots don't dominated the game, so an intelligent player can still work legit. Anyways, most of the RS economy is dependent on massive volumes of goods produced by bots.

 

The bots are getting out of hand now.. They need to atleast cut down the number of bots

Tbh, I think it's the board of directors at Jagex who are the reason behind Jagex putting less effort into getting rid of bots. When Andrew Gower was on the board, bots were getting banned left, right and center, now they seem to be more lenient.

If I was in charge, I would certainly get rid of bots, especially spammers in f2p g.e.

Why have I been reset twice and perm banned once? They clearly care.

 

They won't stop botting all together. It would destroy their profits. I know i run 3 p2p accounts botting everyday so if they were to ban me, then they would lose 3 members for one person..
