Punishment?

Whenever someone is banned, which is already hard enough to do, all they lose is a disposable account. The person who was scammed though loses much more. Why not an IP ban, or a refund if it is a reasonable one?

I was scammed and the other guy wont even be punished at all because I didn't get a picture of he trade accepted. He gets off scotch free all because I forgot one picture? I had the trade shown, the chat logs. It seems like it's easier to be scammed than ban a scammer.

I used this site for a trade before and it went smoothly, I decided to trust someone else on here with 11 vouches, yet he scammed 7M and will probably continue to scam. All because I forgot one measly picture?

Take pictures of every part of any trade. That way you are covered, and the person WILL get banned if they end up scamming you. Making scammers pay money back when they are on Newcomer, or Member account will more than likely not happen, because all they would have to do is make a new one (which you stated). Also Ip banning is not 100% effective, because people can change their ip's.

Use a middleman and take pictures, it's really not that hard to get someone banned if you were scammed and have substantial evidence.

Explain to me how everyone now thinks. "omg I got scammed mod refund me." I keep getting pm's about this and also. We ban scammers and why do we owe you a refund? It's up to you to harrass the person and try get a refund.

Yeah, it really isn't very difficult to take screenshots of the trade/msn convo. Just have Pain opened and ready to ctrl+v the screenshot.
I had to learn the hard way as well, but you've just got to keep your head up and not let a bad trade deter you from enjoying the site's benefits.
If you feel you're trading with a sketchy person, use an O/MM, or don't trade them at all, find someone else.

No one deserves anything, I am just saying if there if enough proof to get the scammer banned and prove it was a scam then there should be a refund of it is a reasonable refund. I lost 7M which is pocket change for some on here. I took pictures of everything except the accepted trade. I had the first and second trade screen, but he clicked accept before I could get a picture of me accepting. It is just so easy to be a scammed on this site and never get punished it seems because of all the requirements needed for it.

Nobody here should be required to give you money because you lost it. It's not their fault you have poor trading habits(not directed to you; only if this were to happen) and couldn't use a middleman.

Just because 7m is pocket change to others, doesn't mean that they're obliged to give you anything.

Like I said no on is obligated, this is merely a feedback thread and I am giving feedback in an organized manner. I made the report thread very organized, neat and such, but no action will be taken because I didn't have one picture?

I am giving feedback on how easy it is to get away with scamming, I had the chat logs, the trade screens and more. It just seems like a highly unbalanced system as it is now.

I personally just record the entire trade, and if anything goes wrong, I pull screenshots of the video I captured. Swiftkit also works wonders for taking easy pictures.

As for the refund, the only person liable is the one who scammed you. There's no reason why the moderators at Sythe should be held responsible for someone else's actions.

This is really what it boils down to. It's no one's fault but your own that you don't practice safe trading. Screencaps, video, MM/OMM.

In dicing if a trusted rank scams you the owner may usually refund you so the clan can keep it's good and trusted name. Same with other businesses. And I don't really are about the refund, that's not the point of the thread. I am saying someone can be easily scammed and no one is punished. The amount of effort needed to report a scammer is far more than the amount to scam. And even with all of my evidence it isn't enough because of one picture? It's proves the reporting policy is a bit broken.

Driller's a sad story. I reviewed the incriminating evidence, it really adds up quite nicely, the inbox messages, the in-game interaction. Really too bad that he didn't take that last, solidifying shot of the accepted trade. Im familiar with what went down and can vouch that the accused is in fact a methodical scammer. Its such a sadness, knowing that 'The Carter IV' is browsing this thread right now, with a smug grin on his face.

Mark my words; The Carter IV will strike again, and when he's finally banned, i hope we can all revisit this thread in anguish, knowing that he could've been stopped before another member was made victim. Thats the fallacy behind this whole black market, and im in no way blaming the staff team. Its a difficult paradox.

Yea, people aren't getting the point of the thread. I had pictures, I had evidence, but it is all for nothing because of one picture? That's the point of the thread, I just want a better reporting system so this can't happen as easily in the future.

We all should get refunded or something Trusted members should pay something like they do in dicing ccs like a 1b fund and they can have it back when they want but not if they scam it should be used to pay off the people that they scammed.

It's not really the refund I care about, that would make it a bit better. I'm just mad that he keeps his vouches and good name when I know it's all a lie and can't do anything about it. They aren't responsible for the refund, but they are responsible for a bit better system I believe.
