Is Fortnite ever going to get crossplay between Sony and Nintendo?

Hey guys! All of us at PlayerAuctions have been musing over whether Fortnite is getting crossplay between Sony and Nintendo. We wrote about some of our thoughts here:

I see tags Sony is having troubles with cross play in general

 

Fortnite is one of the most popular games currently, yeah. I think it can be put onto Nintendo Switch because of the support people have for it right now.

 

Sony has already said this will never happen. Their reason being: "We cannot control the way players act on other platforms." In other words, if your fortnite account is linked to PSN it's a slave to PSN because they have no control over you or anyone else on a different platform.

A friend and I were talking about this and not to hate on Xbox, if they were on the same spot with regards to the console competition, they would have probably done the same. I guess being on top gives you a pass to be like that haha!

I really think sony kind of missed out on this, allowing Xbox One and Switch players to play while their player base remains connected to PC only.

Yeah, I heard that comment as well in an interview. I think Microsoft was kind of offended because Sony was insinuating that the Xbox Live space was "lawless" or to that extent haha.

In my experience, hope they leave it be, don't crossplay. Crossplay from consoles and pc creates a much different game experience then the game is made for, IMO at least.If it wasn't profitable on a certain console perhaps they should have considered that being a consequence of release. Oh well.

 

Either way, the game will soon die off. Epic wants to get rid of the building mechanic, which will in turn ruin the game. They want to only allow a few hundred materials now vs being able to achieve 999 of each.

In my opinion, I would have liked to be able to have MORE materials. If it's nerfed to the point where we can only have around 200 of each material I'll most definitely be quitting, as will others.
