Allow me to introduce myself to the community. My name is Matt (AKA - Protocol)
Let me answer a few questions for you, so that you can understand who is running this server and why.

First of all, why are you running this server?

Well, glad of you to ask that question. I ran a successful RSC Private server for a very long time. It grew like no other back in it's prime day. I battled out kids who wanted to take me down, SQL Inject me, DDoS me, hack me. You name it... I fought and won the war. I could have kept my server going but due to a family emergency for over 2 months I had to shut it down. My server stayed up for 2 years because I was a GOOD leader. I knew what my community wanted and I listened to them every chance I had. I didn't care about the money, I didn't care about the fame. I cared about making my player base happy, and that's what I did everyday. You can laugh if you want, but I hear a lot of people who come to my server go.. "How old are you?" I go.. 22.. Their like "Holy shit your old" - oh please.

What are you plans for running this server?

I want it to be the best it can be. With your help, we can do that together.

Is your server a PK or a skilling server?

Both! Skilling xp rates are a tad different then combat, mind you their all different based on which skill. Perfect hybrading and switching for pkers, all skills work, tons of minigames, and fun. Just check it out because honestly words cannot describe it

So there you have it, some important questions answered there for you.. Now before I do show pictures, I do want to mention one thing...

I know how to run a server, I know what the community wants, I listen to the community, I don't do things 'MY WAY'. If the community wants something done and a vote is done on it, that's the way it goes. I don't give out tons of items for donations because that just ruins the whole game. I don't abuse my admin powers, I don't act like a immature 14 year old. I am 22 years old, I have experience in running servers. If you choose Protocol as a server to play, you are making the right choice.

Protocol is a 474 version of RS. We use Shard Revolutions base. We like to keep the server as a balanced server with skilling/pking and a amazing economy, so if you like those kind of servers, hop on down to Protocol. ^_^

Anyway,

I've written a very quick guide on the PvP World:
We will cover
1) How to access it
2) How to teleport to certain Zones
3) How to get Home
4) Explanation of Zones
5) PvP points and rewards
6) List of known Issues


1) - How to access the PvP World
First, start by heading to Edgevil bank.
In the north-east corner will be the Wise Old Man.

If you talk to him, you can sit through a small piece of diaglouge

Eventually you can ask him to teleport you to the PvP World or ask for an explanation of the rules.

2) How to access Pvp Zones

Once you're in the PvP World, you can talk to Duradel about Teleporting to Pvp Zones.

3) How to return from Pvp Zones\return to the Real World.
In each PvP Zone there is a Portal that will teleport you back to the Lobby.
However you must remain out of combat for 10 seconds to use the portal.

To return to the Real World, all you need to do is Talk to the Wise Old Man and he will Teleport you home.

4) Explanation of Zones
Currently there are four Active PvP Zones.
Right now, any level can enter them and they are open PvP.

When inside a zone the Wilderness Skull will appear and have either:
OPEN - you CAN lose your items on Death
Fun - You will NOT lose items on Death.
Lobby - You cannot engage other players.
or a Lvl - Lvl symbol. (Eg 3-79) - You may only attack persons within this range.

1) Edgevil - This zone is Open PVP. No special constraints.
2) Falador - This zone is Open PVP. No Prayer is allowed here.
3) Varrock - This zone is Open PVP. You cannot enter this Zone with a Defense Level above 1.
4) Wizards Tower - This zone is a Fun type zone.

More zones will be added soon.


5) PvP points and rewards
When you kill another player inside a PvP Zone you gain a PvP Point.
Donors\Members gain five points instead of 1.
You can go to the Wizards Tower, on the ground floor and trade the NPC's there for PvP Rewards.

Rewards include: Arrows, Runes, Food, Weapons, Armor, God specific items and other various and miscellaneous items.

There IS a Members(Donation) only shop that has Donor only items inside it. And is only visible to Donors.


6) List of Known Issues:

Protocol is a fantastic server! Easily the best one I've ever played before; and that's saying a lot seeing as I've been playing them for years. Great economy, friendly player base, tons of activities. What more could you ask for?
