Proposing new Sythe forum structure.

I like it.

 

Not a bad structure, I can't really think of any major changes to it.

 

This, the games that are on the FP are really inconsistent, while games that are more popular e.g. LoL & WoW aren't on the FP, stuff like PokeMMO (don't get me wrong it's a great game) is.

Full support, Syed, like this set-up very much.

 

I also think Music, Video, and Tech could be put under a parent forum of something like Lifestyle & Entertainment.

 

Agree with everything but antiscam being removed. Itis fine where it is and easy to find.

 

I think merging pures with mains is a mistake, those sections are way too active and we can afford to keep them separate. Otherwise I don't have an issue with any of the suggestions

 

Definite support. It would be nicer to browse/moderate with a cleaner interface. On top of this we would reduce the chance of users coming then leaving or being confused.

 

Yeah I like syed-sensei's structure, it would minimize all if the unneeded space and group things that are better together.

 

These sections are really packed out, so im inclined to agree with video on this.

This and leaving RASC at the bottom of the page are the only thing i have issue with. Other than that i like the proposed changes and feel it would streamline the forums a bit.

 

As an expert forum manager, and after consulting with R2Pleasent's forum manager, I have spent the past 2 years researching Sythe forum structures, I'm going to have to say that the following structure is much better:

I'm not sure if I like Syed's or Grave's design more.

Would like to see a change though, as the current form does seem a little messy when I pay attention to it.

Maybe we could have a poll for multiple forum structures and pick the one people vote for best?

 

Report a scammer is a link on purpose. It keeps admins from having to do extra work when promoting people since they can just do anti-scam permissions. There is also going to be a link at either the bottom or in market tools so everyone is happy about its placement. Theres no reason for it not to be a link so its going to be a link.

 

Oh, come on. The excuse for not properly moving it and just linking it is a disgrace. Are you saying an administrator can't spend a few minutes fixing the permissions on a popular forum software? Seriously?

 

New forum structure or not, I'd really like it if each and every one of us had the ability to customise the front page to our own liking. I know you can collapse sections but the ability to actually customise the front page index yourself would be really good.

By the way Grave I disagree with removing the 'General/Off-topic' section. It's a good discussion section and not everything needs to go in the spam forum.

 

You're being stupid. They add forum permissions to people. Everyone gets Anti-Scam permissions so it is utterly asinine to move report a scammer out of there. There is going to be a link at the bottom or in market tools. This is not arguable. We aren't going to reduce the visibility of report a scammer and we aren't going to move it from where it has been for years and years. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a link. Nothing at all.

 

Yes, but it keeps people from actually posting it in a related section. Go look at the first page: you can categorize it under other current off-topic sections.

They can move it up and just add the dispute forum to it? That way people who get report a scammer permission also get to handle disputes as well, and honestly, if they can't handle scammer reports then why should they be able to handle unbanning said scammers? Nothing wrong with links? How about making it look retarded since it's a discussion board and not a click-this-to-go-to-a-section board? With your logic we can pretty much add links anywhere to the sections below, or fit one section in multiple categories. For example, why not put a link to the price check forum under the markets, and then put a link to free guides in guide sales, and then also put guide sales under guides? Fuck your logic.

 

My logic != what you think my logic is. Move disputes to the bottom within anti-scam. That's much better.

 

I really like this! I have been on here for about 6 years now and this seems to be long overdue.

It actually looks much "cleaner" and easier to find stuff.

 

I prefer Syed's suggestion over Grave's. I feel that moving Anti Scam into market tools is good, it also raises awareness of it. Disputes I feel should be in anti scam also, but perhaps it should be renamed to Resolution Center or something.

Also, despite Sythe wanting Scar/Simba to stay on the front page, its to the site's detriment and it is an eye sore. Scar/Simba is too un-user friendly to become a popular section.

 

About merging pures with other accounts, and why I think it's a good idea.

They're extremely similar, also there's no pures near level 200, thus rendering that subsection invalid, merging them would be the best option because some accounts are half-pure and half-other and people would get confused where to put them. While with an accounts structure similar to this:

Accounts:

• Levels 4-99
• Levels 100-149
• Levels 149-200
• Name Sales

It is much easier to know where to post your account's sale thread and literally makes it look way better than two sections with the exact same subsections. People label their pures in the title anyway(IE, [1 Def Pure], etc), so it won't change a thing except make it easier for people to browse and buy accounts.
