It is recommended that you contact the manufacturer of the graphics card to see if it can be supported.

Apple doesn't test every new graphics card that comes to market to check for compatibility.

But the graphics card companies will list compatibility.

The only graphics cards that Apple supports in the current Mac Pro are the graphics cards that we offer

But you should be able to obtain info about compatibility and support directly from the graphics card manufacturers.

I do have a link to some info about the cards that we do support.

I don't think graphics card companies test everything on a Mac Pro, especially if they don't know what the specifications for it are, and when most the world uses Windows computers. The graphics cards you offer are pretty old, at least around three years, and I'm willing to spend thousands of dollars on your computer if I'm sure I can use it with two 7970s.
