Any of you here promote or have promoted for a music event? I'm new to the area and have been promoting for events such as Knife Party, Afrojack, and Rusko. You guys think its a good thing or a waste of time? I mainly sell tickets and hand out flyers etc..

I haven't done it myself, but I know about it. Saying "You guys think its a good thing or a waste of time?" is up to you to judge. Do you enjoy it? Does it make you money? These are just some thins that will help you decide. You want to advertise in the local area around the venue. If your advertising 50 miles away, people won't want to travel that far unless they're a well known band. Another good tip is say for instance it's an emo band, there are sometimes places where emos will hang out e.g. certain parks, areas etc. They are your target audience, so go to them. Good luck :)
