Problem with Xbox Live

Ok so.. here's the situation. I have just recently signed up for xbox live on my 360. its a brand new console, and I just sign up for live a couple days ago. Im on the gold free trial thing. On xbox live I can access the marketplace, and I can chat, view leaderboards and things like that.

When I go to play one of my games.... IE) Gears of War, Saints row

1)The game updates, so it is usable online.

2)Then I go to quickfind a match.

3)It searches for games , but always comes back and says no games were found, and asks me if I would like to host.


I ran a connection test, everything was good. NAT was Open.
I called the Xbox support line, and I was on there for an hour trying several different things, and nothing seemed to work, I still can't locate matches.

Can somebody give me some help with this problem, it is getting very frustrating.

I was looking for any open games, as for firewall I ran a connection test, and NAT was open so thats not the problem.
