Going to pitch these to Matthew once I get a fair bit of feedback on the idea.

 

As we are on this topic, this mainly only goes to shop owners really, Because we can have a normal member that just likes to give back to the community, but isn't very well known/doesn't have a huge business, so doesn't get a lot of pm's/important pm's per day, for this we could have 1 user group rank that could be "Business Owner" as a new rank, for people that would like to donate for more space in the pm, and maybe different perks. This would make people want to donate more, and also make people more trustworthy to that person, I would put some pre-req's on it first though, like must have a 1k+ post count and 100+ feedback or 200+ feedback alone, etc.. If you get what I'm saying, this would make it much easier to implement and I think would be a good addition.

Edit: I wouldn't set this at like $5, $25 or maybe even $50, maybe $75+, because this would be very trustworthy.

 

I would seriously like more space too... I would support this. Also a huge incentive to donate so sythe Wins too

In all seriousness though, it would be nice to have some extra PM space, especially for a few user groups in particular (high level donors and staff members). This has nothing to do with those user's status either, but because for a lot of people in those user groups the extra space is actually needed and would make a big difference. I know many business owners or heavy traders probably send/receive a large volume of PM's daily, and so that is one group in particular that I think it would benefit. As for staff, some may argue that we already have enough space as it is. But even with the 1000 message limit for Sectionals right now, my inbox fills up extremely quickly

 

I completely support this. I find myself generally deleting about 50 messages every couple of days. It adds up very quick.

For the moment, I don't think we'll be seeing an increase in PM space for donators in the near future.

 

Heres my two cents. We raise it, then users will want more even if it's a perk for donors. So there really is no way to satisfy people.

Maybe donors - 1000
Sectionals 2k
Globals 5k
Admins Unlimited

Well, this thread is more about higher PMs for donators. But I agree staff should have higher PM space also, although I'm not sure about admins having unlimited space, maybe a very high amount, but I'm not sure about unlimited. Maybe speak to Matthew (maybe Govind?) and see if PM space could be enlarged for staff?

 

My vote probably doesn't mean much of anything. But I think it makes sense for high donators, like $100 plus. Especially, considering that they seem to run big Sythe businesses.

 

Bump/supporting this idea as space shouldnt be a big issue and matthew wont have to recode donation center.

 

100% support, I plan on donating soon anyways, but if there were perks for higher donators.. I could diffidently see myself donating even more.

The only problem I could see is maybe Sythe has problems with space? They say forums this large cause some issues, but not sure if messages have anything to do with that.

 

I'd donate some extra cash to be have increased PM's. I'm not even in the market to often, but i'd hate to delete some private messages considering they're basically useless in the text form. I'm sure if it's a hassle for me than the big market members must be having some real trouble with it.

 

I personally know how hard it is to contact arcus and maybe bump market sellers up. Cus that's where it all comes from.

 

PMs don't really stress out servers, and don't require too much disk space.

I greatly support this. Large donors and possibly given out as a privilege to trusted members of the community or through a contest.

 

I don't think Sythe or Matthew have a problem with sever stress, I think they're more unhappy about the fact they'd need to create a variety of usergroups to be able to facilitate the changes. (Apparently PM space can only be edited through an entire usergroup, and Donators are currently only the one usergroup.)
