I think if I'm not mistaken that it was done on purpose to prevent spam in the forum/useless replies.

Why should there be postcount for posting a 5-6 letter reply. It's just get spammed out with unhelpful replies.

 

Same with intros/farewells, middleman section etc.
It's to prevent spam
