Prepaid Visa for Mems

Today I bought a Prepaid Visa Greendot Gold card and loaded it with $20.

The card itself says

16 Digit Card Number; Expiry Date; Debit Visa logo
And "Valued Customer" where the name should be.

I tried verifying my paypal but it says the card has been denied by my bank but I don't know why. I haven't used it, got it this morning. So I tried getting RS mems under "Debit Card" but that also said the card was denied.

Is there a waiting period for the card to be used? On the card package, it said I had to register online in order for me to receive the personalized card through the mail and the included card is for temporary use.

Is it possible to use it for online purchases even though I didn't register it? I don't want to register it because my parents will be like wtf once they see it in the mail.

Any ideas?

 

i don't think so i think visa has a card that says you can use online otherwise idk google it

 

I did google it but they come up with different a type of card.
The package said "Prepaid Visa" on front so idk.

 

I think you'll need to register it to verify that there is someone who is in full control over the account that is also of substantial age. Therefore, they can accept full responsibility for anything that might occur.

I think it's just purely liability.

 

I got it registered but now they said they will charge $5.95 each month unless I don't purchase 30+ items. It has $20 so I want to use all of it at once to get more membership days but it only allows "recurring" payments. Anyway to get 90 days at once?

If that doesn't work then I can just use this card to buy an ultimate game card lol.

Wtf you gonna buy at 50 cents 30 times? Too much. Just decline the card now before anything happens.

Just like you said, if you just wanted for membership, get the ultimate gamers card. That's what I do.

 

i don't think you can verify paypal with a prepaid or subscribe to something (since runescape is recurrent) thats probably the problem.

 

If that's the case. I can still use it for In-Store use and buy an Ult Game Card for $20 = 3 months + 1 cent left over lol.
This was the first time I've dealt with prepaid visa. I wanted to see if I could add funds to paypal to allow me to make online purchases (Steam games/etc). Since this is so much crap I will never buy these again and will always get those ult game card. I try to avoid those because some of my friends go to Rite Aid after school and buy food and stuff so I don't want them knowing i bot rs lol.

 

Most prepaid cards generally verify and approve all bogus info (eg, name, address, zip code)... but some of them will outright reject anything that's processed like that. In this case, you'd have to buy stuff in person (at point-of-sale terminals).

Truth be told, they just want you to not spend the money so they can continue to charge you fees.

 

Prepaid cards are usually USA only. Jagex isn't located in the USA.

On top of that, some cards require you to activate it online in order to use it online.

 

Just verify it...your parents aren't going to go crazy because you bought a prepaid Visa card...just say you wanted to purchase membership, not like they're going to take your computer away...
