Question 1:
A) x = 5500 * (.85)^t (where x = # of dioxane)
B) Just plug in 10 to t, so you get, x = 5500 * (.85)^10 = 1082.8
Question 2:
A) P = 900,000,000 * 2^(t/25) (Where P = population)
B) P = 900,000,000 * 2^(222/25) = 401 Billion (just plug 222 into t)
C) Just ignore the .9 Billion, and plug 1 into t, this leaves us with 2^(1/25) which equals 1.028, which means the annual growth rate is 1.028%.
Question 3: I am a bit rusty on these, so you might want to double check my answers. But i'll give it a go:
A) 2, as it's the inverse, you just reverse the x and y values, so we know normally F(2) equals 17, so the inverse of it would mean F -1(17) would be 2.
B) Not enough information given, unless we know the actual formula to F(x)
C) Same as B.
D) I want to say undefined, but I am actually not sure, sorry :S
E) Again, I want to say undefined, but I am not sure.

bump, I could use some calc help. questions having to do with looking at a graph and being able to tell when f is greatest, least etc. Would appreciate some help tonight if possible. Thanks in advance please post or PM and Ill contact you
