    Potential Virus on my MacBook

Essentially, my computer just shuts down after a minute or 2 of use. When I put it in safe mode, this does not happen, however, my battery drains quite fast.

    My questions:

Would this be a virus, if the restarts DONT happen in safe mode?

If its not a virus, what would it be?

How would I even go about finding/removing this virus if my computer has to be left in safe mode to work (thus anti viruses do not run).

So, I kind of ventured into the dark web to fuel a bit of curiosity over the whole nature of it. I may of clicked on a couple dodgy looking links (potentially this is what happened).

Also someone on Skype had sent me a text file containing a bit of information he wanted help with. But this file was unusually large and also got my attention as being a potential threat.

These 2 things happened around the same time and now fast forward a few days my computer is fairly fucked.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
