Post rank remake?

You can be a 2005 member with >50 post count and still be called a Newcomer. It's just the rank that is displayed for you depending on how active you are in the community.

 

You need to propose a change if this is a suggestion i.e. different names for different levels

 

Usertitles reflect your post count, nothing else. It wouldn't make sense to change how it works.

Having a join date system for a few, post per day for some others and post count for the rest is overdoing it imo lol.

if you want to make it based on posts per day, people are gonna farm shitty posts even more so than they already do. if you want to rename the 0-50, 50-200, 200-500, etc categories though, i think that's fine

 

I agree with the "Active Member" needing to be changed. It should just be changed to "Member".

 

The current titles are

0 - 24 posts = Newcomer
25 - 99 posts = Member
100 - 249 posts = Active Member
250 - 624 posts = Forum Addict
625 - 999 posts = Apprentice
1,000 - 1,999 posts = Guru
2,000 - 4,999 posts = Grand Master
5,000 - 9,999 posts = Hero
10,000+ posts = Legend

 

Name them to something market based, if anything. Still not really a reason to. Leecher was the best, I was sad when we removed it. It was my suggestion to add the last two as people were posting more and more, but I don't really see a reason to change the ones that currently exist.

 

I think we should have 15k, 20k and 25k at this rate

 

The only thing is, how many with those post counts don't have usertitles? Either from ex-staff or donation, I don't know anyone who doesn't at least have the option.

Let's be honest, some newcomers spam over 100 PC in a few days so it really shouldn't be active members. I think it should personally be:
0 - 99 = Newcomer
100 - 399 = Member
399 - 749 = Active member
749 - 999 = Forum Addict
The rest remains the same

However, I believe that to retain the "Active Member" title you must post at least X times a month (I would say 50 but that's up for debate). By the end of the month if that status is not reached they are converted back to "Member" until they reach the required monthly post count. If they have reached past "Active Member" there shouldn't be a necessary monthly post count since they are clearly active/were active in the community. It's more about the gray between clearly a newcomer and community member that needs to be distinguished and dealt with.

Not sure why we would need this, but if this is a very simple matter of 2 minutes to edit, I'd support a change. The only edit I'd suggest from Hamouze's post is to edit the Active Member section, as pointed out above, not everyone that falls into that category is active.

 

No, it's not fair to the members that maybe joined Sythe in 2009, posted once then left for 6 years..
Because no matter how many times they post it'll probably be like 0.01post/day average and keep them newcomers forever lol.

Well you're past the Active Member title so you wouldn't have to worry about that. Again, it's more in reference with the gray area between active and new.
