Middle Man Sticky Guide

There are many times where I haven't done a certain trade when asked to MM it. I usually then message another MM or OMM to tell me how to do it.

I think it'd be nice if there was a sticky/guide on how to do certain trades. It can be tricky to figure some out.

I do understand you can just go to the OMM apps and look at how they did it by looking at screenshots but I think a sticky would be nice.

I could help out doing some of them but would need some help for others. Then also have a little section on it to show what types of things are impossible to MM.

What sort of trades are you unsure about? Random things like "Zynga Chips" or something more obvious?

 

The guide you linked had some broken images and invalid links, a rework would be beneficial

 

I think what he means is like:

Account swap
Account > cash
Virtual currency
Game cards/vouchers
IRL trades


etc

 

Yeah, I guess some of them would be risky for the MM to do if they agreed to it, risk of chargebacks and stuff.

All I could think of is maybe holding their cash for a certain amount of time, kind of like Player Auctions do, although they could still just chargeback once the trade is over.

IRL - Maybe create a waiting period of 5-10 days. It could be random with every trade. Take the money and hold it in your PP, tell the buying that the item has been shipped, and tell the seller to tell them it has also. After 5-10 days if the buyer hasn't charged back then tell the seller to dispatch?

 

The middleman should never need to hold any unsafe funds. Unless we're talking about an account swap, the middleman will only need to access one half of the deal.

For example:
For an account swap you'd have to gain access to both accounts, check the accounts were as specified then send the details on.
For an account > cash sale you'd secure the account then receive the pictures of the sent cash and then the received cash.
For a giftcard sale you'd hold the (example) RSGP and then watch the redemption on screenshare.

There are just slight differences for different types of trade; it can be daunting taking on a middleman responsibility for the first time. As such, it might be beneficial to make people feel a bit more able and informed to do so.

 

So an IRL trade for PP wouldn't be able to be MMed? (Sorry to go off topic)

 

It would be difficult to do so; you'd just have to maybe look for alternatives to an unsafe platform like Paypal. There'd be no profit in middlemanning if middlemen took Paypal funds. Bitcoin would be a good alternative because there is no refunds whatsoever.

 

I'm saying for new users that have no idea. Like a steam account trade, or CS:GO items, etc.

That's exactly what I'm saying. I always have to bug Zuzel or JackyG if I haven't done one before.

Something of a step by step process would be very nice.

 

Nvm - thread mentioned was edited. This would be nice, but people do trades in different ways (swaps, for instance, can be done with one account or two - doing it one way doesn't make an MM a scammer / account trades are more complex and people do them in all sorts of ways); if you can come up with a universal method, I say go for it.

 

If you're keen on seeing this done; I'd maybe first contact all the OMM's/well practised MM's and see if any would be interested in contributing.

 

I always thought people who visit middlemen forums are looking for MM not for a guide. There's no learning needed at all, you just need to think about the safest possible way to MM trade. You need to hold atleast 1 good, (for example change mail + pass of account you're middlemanning to your own until payment is proceeded between buyer & seller). Just ask if I'm available to explain you something, you asked me few times on procedures how to MM some trades already

 

I'm saying a guide on specific types of trades. For example, I never knew how to do steam account MMs. Now I do since I asked around.

I know how to do most other trades but there are some where I have no idea. Therefore, a guide for trades step by step would be nice for users that are new to MMing and would have something to look at and see how it's done, rather than messaging specific MMs all the time.

 

IMO they should learn their own procedures, I started by just RS services, most of info about things I was MMing was gained straight my customers, obviously after excluding idiotic content such 'change email so I cant recover it'

 

Wouldn't hurt to have an outline for such a thing. They can then tailor it to how they see fit. But a general guide would've been nice as a newcomer MM.
