downloaded a phished version of msn rite.
and now for the last 2 weeks i get 10000 popups from no where

and I check my process list and its got iexplore.... it wont close it just re opens when i end the process.

I've tried 4 virus scanners.

The safest thing you could do would be to reformat. Also, try going to safemode, and look for the "iexplorer.exe" (yes, it's iexplorer) file. And delete it.

I tried reformating, Lost all my Drivers and had some tech retard come fix my pc..

So reformating is a no go for now.

Haha, geek squad? And ya, try to find a reformating program or hopefully that tech retard helps.

Why would you download msn of some crap as warez site, when you can just have it for free?

I wouldn't reformat, its pretty obvious that you have malware/adware on your PC (if those pop up do have some advertisement on it). I would download a good anti-virus (nod32, or some other anti-virus program)

Get Adaware, SpyBot S&D and Windows Defender. Maybe even AVG AntiSpyware.

They should clear everything up.

LOL it was a fake msn site, it looked just like the real one.

and x9

I've tried AdAware it tried making me pay lol...

AVG came up clean
So did spybot.

psst, download processexplorer, its from sysinternals/microsoft.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx

now select the file in processexplorer, "iexplorer.exe" i think you said it was, rightclick it and hit properties, then click the image tab on the properties page. this should show the directory its in, yes?

now, download GiPo@FileUtilities from http://www.gibinsoft.net/gipoutils/
install and run the GiPo@FileUtilities - MoveOnBoot
select the file and click next, select the "delete" radiobutton

finish that up, reboot, see if its gone? it should be..

had same thingie, iexplore.exe is your thing . try endprocess tree

Tried it it just opens again.

did you try what i posted or is that too much work?
just asking..because it seems you didnt even try it.

only reason doing what i said wouldnt work is if there are other processes like the one for the popups.

Ill try it now, Sorry I didn't see the post.

Do you mind posting (or pming me ) a hijackthis log of your pc ?

I've tried SpyBot, And i did find other errors, But not the source of the advertisements.

nah you dont have to pay for any of it..lol

gipo@fileutil will ask for a key when its ran but u just click close and it runs just fine.

When did you download this exactly, if it was not too long ago, there's a way you can "reboot" your computer, the day, minute, hour before you downloaded it but it will delete all your information from after that date.
