What medium do you use to purportedly communicate with your deceased canine?

 

i believe there are an assortment of spirits

you have your 'ghosts', which are former living people

then you have your 'demons', which were never living on earth

now I'm not a believer of God, or a creator, so I use demon for lack of a better word. But I do believe that there are some big nasties out there.

I guess there would be the good equivalent too...

I like to think of an ongoing battle of good and evil, and these 'demons' want death and destruction. The feed you negative thoughts etc and want chaos.
The good fellows do just the opposite.

It's all hard to explain, and the fact that I am an avid reader of fantasy books probably doesn't help.

 

I do not believe in such things, your superstitions get the better of you and 90% of the population gets these images from television and those "ghost catcher" shows that depict professional ghost hunters going in and being scared witless of the dark.

 

My aunt has a friend who is fairly into ghosts and all that stuff. One day she sat down with my aunt and showed her this thing called automatic writing. Basically, she went into a sort of trance and wrote out a message for my aunt from my aunts dead mother. My aunt watched her do this for about an hour. She was unable to interrupt her friend or stop her doing what she was doing. Afterwards my aunt read through the message and it was full of things that no one outside of her family would know of. It was literally as if the message had been written by her mother herself.

So that's the first part of the foundation of my beliefs.

Before you read this bit, bear in mind that my dad is an incredibly serious person. In his eyes, anything that can't be proved or doesn't make sense is either wrong or made up.

My mum occasionally visits a clairvoyant who appears to be very good (she has predicted things in the past that have come true and she has done other stuff that makes her seem credible too - I'll write it out in another post if you guys request it). On her last visit the clairvoyant was talking about her mother, and told my mum 'If you ever want to talk to her, all you need to do is ask.'. Now a few months after that my mum went through a pretty rough time, she wasn't enjoying life that much and she was very down. One day during this period of time she was in front of the mirror and she said 'Why won't you just talk to me?' (aimed at her mother). That night when she went to bed, she woke up in the middle of the night. She saw what she believed to be her mother sitting on the end of the bed. Apparently, she had a sort of golden glow and was a bit translucent. My dad woke up at exactly the same time and saw exactly the same thing. He refuses to discuss it now because he cannot explain it and doesn't understand, but the fact that he saw this event as well as my mother makes me struggle to disbelieve it.

I don't really see how any of that stuff could just have been conjured up out of thin air for no reason at all.

 

I really don't believe in the paranormal. Similar to what Tiger9110 said, many people are decieved by the multitude of ghost hunter shows on T.V. These shows never actually prove anything and the people on the show react to things that the camera doesn't pick up. They then proceed to tell you what just happened in their own words. If I knew someone personally who had any sort of rational belief in paranormal activity, then I might give it a chance. As it stands though, I do not believe in the paranormal.

 

you are hearing only first person accounts dude. this is the least kind of credible evidence.

ever hear of cold reading, or false awakenings?

also, people will judge some minorities based purely on preconceived stereotypes, and perceive not what is, but what they expect to see.

this applies to many "paranormal" experiences.

also, i do not believe this because of the way it was presented. typical propaganda story:
A believes this
B doesnt believe this
A tries to convince B but does not succeed.
B finally sees the metaphorical light.

 

I say no because people can't prove them and most people haven't seen one. I've also never seen one and most of the peoples ghost stories sound idiotic. There's a logical explanation for everything.

 

The fact that there are things we don't yet know of or understand isn't logical?
