A Friend Demoted From Player Moderator Status

Surprised there isn't a topic about this yet, at least I haven't seen one.
A few days ago "A Friend" uploaded a video showcasing phished accounts:


Today apparently he was demoted due to this video.


IMO the phishing video wasn't a good idea on his part, the vibe that I got from watching it was that he didn't care that it was taking place and was even fascinated with some of the obtained loots. To be honest his video didn't even really contain any educational elements, it was merely trying to glorify phishing, and seemed more than anything that it'd likely convince people to try phishing.

 

A Friend isn't the smartest fellow around.

 

He's actually not a great youtuber other than the fact he's willing to no life harder than most.

 

Ye I subbed to him one day because I thought some of his videos were mildly interesting. After like a week I stopped watching anything he uploaded but I saw this in my little sub box thing of recent uploads today so lol.

 

A friend coming in with the worst way to word something that i've ever seen.

 

Loved all his videos for years but the whole phising thing seems kinda weird these past few weeks

 

All of your above comments I pretty much agree to except for HotColdRush's comment.

I watched A Friend's youtube videos for a while and I never got the vibe that he was educating anything despite that he mentioned it in the video.

Next, from the accent and the very monotonous way he spoke and commentated all of his videos, one can tell he's not from the English native and it's probably his second language, and therefore he must have misunderstood what is right or wrong.

That latest video on the phishing though was very nonsensical of him to post, I watched the whole vid and I was like you're a pmod and what is this? He pretty much deserves it.

Yup, basically he does shit that nobody wants to do for a long period of time and reports on what happens which some people find interesting...so I guess this vid falls under his line of vids. He should've thought about how to present it though. He's always been bad at that in a pure video-making perspective

I enjoyed a good portion of his videos. Guess JaGeX got a little pissy. Happens, look at silentc0re and some other one, I'm blanking atm. 20$ he'll get it back in a month or so

 

Silentc0re and So Wreck3d were JMods not Pmods and Silentc0re abused a JMod command to kill a ragger while So Wreck3d was basically recorded talking shit about OSRS/the entire OSRS team and saying Mod Mat K didn't have a brain, etc lol. Also Jagex doesn't really re-promote people so I doubt it.

about time? what did he previously do that you think he should of been de-modded earlier?

 

He's been promoting intolerable acts for a while now.

I'm usually entertained by his videos, why is everyone shit talking him? What other "intolerable" acts has he committed?
