PM harassing someone elses customers

I support this as it is fair. Even tho we are in a competitive market one should rely on his abilities and not underhand moves to gain customers

 

It's in poor taste and an easy way to make enemies (ie people could buy 5m from his accounts and report it for RWT) which is why I never lurked other peoples threads, but it could be in the best interest of the customer. Ultimately, it's a free market and as others have said not necessarily appropriate. It comes down to risk and reward and whether stealing a customer is worth the risk of any kind of price war or retribution.

Agreed. The logic is that your thread is similar to your property, while a PM box isn't advertised and is individual.

 

In those cases, one could make his or her own thread. If the buyer then picks someone else over you, there is no need to PM them.


And as for enforcability: I do not think that it would be very time-costly to implement this as it would require a complaint from a recipient. From there on it would be very quick.

Also, I assume that most people would prefer to stick to the rules, meaning that if it becomes clear that this is not allowed most would stop doing so anyway. Especially people who want to do repeat business would not like infractions/temp bans.

 

I would not class "harassing" as sending a person a single PM with an opportunity for them to save money. It is also not "hijacking their thread" if the person sends a pm, and doesn't actually physically post on the sellers thread. The individual buying the product is in no way forced into buying something they don't want, it just gives them another opportunity. Eg,

Bogdan is selling minirank C for $50.

A buyer posts on Bogdan's thread wanting to buy minirank C.

I pm the buyer saying I will sell him my miniranks C for $30

I profit, and so does the buyer by getting a better deal. No harm done?

 

I agree. L0lly, when I was swapping a few months ago (btw ill return soon ), I wanted to have customers posting what they want to swap on my thread. I, then, thought that it wouldnt be a good idea because of the others stealing my customers... So I didnt. I noticed you do that. Im sure right now/before, people in the swapping market were pming ur customers who were posting... I respected you and did not contact any customer that posted on your thread or any other that posted on another person's thread as I know how it would feel... (It sucks to lose a customer).

Anyways, there shouldnt be any of this "stealing customers" thing.. If there wasnt, I would of had lot of customers posting on the thread but yea I just dont want to lose customers.

If the customer adds you, okay thats fine. But dont pm him saying : oh you posted on ____ thread saying you wanna swap your 100m eoc for 7m 07? I can do that, add my skype.

Thats just ... Mean. I know its a market and it happens a lot everywhere but we arent just a market.. We are a community. Respect other members.

At least, thats my opinion...

PS: I dont disagree with the people who do not support this. I understand why people think that( because its a free market and theres risk, etc.) . Im just more on the side of respecting the other members than being an enemy to other members whos trying to do business.

It's an open market, but by denying a suggestion like this gives people the green light to do something they once thought were in the gray area. People who doesn't want it and reports it, doesn't change a thing. If you have a better offer, then bump your thread if you can, because the market still has limits.

This is already common practice by people like Bogdan. Which is why Im finding it absurd how when someone gave him a taste of his own medicine and low balled him or something he complained. He pretty much PMed anyone with a minirank, a few months ago, to buy it for an absurdly cheap price.

I figure the new goto method will be to mass PM anyone in the gold selling/buying market. I mean they are in that market for a reason right?

 

This makes no sense as to why people are supporting this other than they're upset that someone offered a buyer a better deal.

How can you implement this? So many ways to bypass this if it were implemented. What're you going to do, forum ban them for PMing someone a cheaper price? It's business.

It's nearly the same thing as them seeing your thread and posting on it, then they proceed to browse other threads and see a different price so they switch to the other person.

You're saying that sending a PM is hijacking. So how hard would it be for the 'hijacker' to just create a thread quick and then PM the buyer their thread. Does that then make it okay? Or am I reading wrong into the logic of your posts.

 

well some people are actually over-paying for trusted service. Customers pick us for a reason, to those living in world of dreams where everyone is happy of others success becsuse you were offline, how'd you feel if someone got pmed with cheaper offer and got scammed in this trade? It happens alot in fire caping for example and 90% of newcomers trying to offee 'cheaper services' sre getting banned shortly
