PM - confirming your skype - RULES

I was wrong in not confirming correctly while being in a rush for a small trade. As a result me and my team will have the penalty of twc. I understand that.

What i suggest so that doesnt happen again is:

write rules on pming, not he said she said statements being thrown around as rules because i basicly wrote my skype only and that wasnt enough and to determine what is enough some people who are competition or people on discord would give ideas.

mods have to decide whats best, eventhough as rules suggest atm the only thing that proves u guilty is your skype, but if we take the road of this perspective, the twc wouldnt have been issued in a legit way. I agree if the twc stays if mods deem me untrustworthy, because in 1 week someone can claim i stole 3m from his acc and it will be back. I just want to help mods in deciding in next cases.

 

@Chloe wrote a guide on How to Compose a Proper PM, can't seem to find it at the moment. Will continue to search. Also, you stated you are DNT, which is false as you have only a TWC badge.

Thanks, i just dont see it in the rules section. The report a scammer section is where u go after u get scammed =/ or an imposter fooled the buyer

 

I do understand, and it should be a written post in the correct section. However, that PM was really bad. Just serve your TWC sentence for a month and appeal it. Continue to gain vouches and make sure you practice proper PM practices. You will be good to go

Edit: you can also explain to any customer who mentions your TWC what it's for and how you know now to send proper skype PMs.

 

Twc's are given for bad trading practice, which is why you got the twc. It's sickening that you've been on this site for 10 years and don't know how to send one correctly. You're lucky @video didn't force you to pay the victim the amount scammed due to your negligence. I think things are fine as they are.

 

I know, we did 6+ powerleveling sales of 100$+ alone today, powerleveling, not gp. Im not talking about my case, this isnt a dispute thread, its a suggestion and wanted to see what the community thinks.

@crazypipe I can see both sides.
Desire is right, you should have and always should ensure that your PM's are 100% accurate and clearly stated.

On the other side, I understand your point too. The customer is autistic to get scammed by an imposter.

But having a clear rule set stating what each "Sythe business" must PM a customer before sale, would help reduce the risks.
Takes 1 minute to make a thread like that and it should be stickied somewhere the customer and business regularly would be looking. Not in the RAS section, where as you said, you go AFTER you're scammed.

 

thanks for the feedback, please refrain from discussing my twc from this post onward. I understand my mistake, its not a huge deal, i was just pissed off. I would be happy to have a conversation about the rules so we can see whats the best thing to do.

 

The RuneScape Rules & Basic Practices was put into most of the forums relating to trading by @Chloe.
The only thing that could be recommended is to have the proper PM thread put into all of the market forums rather than just a few of the RuneScape ones i.e. RuneScape Name Sales etc...

Other than that I'm not sure what you're asking for or even suggesting.

I think it would be way too hard to enforce this especially with new users. You can't expect that new traders will understand the risk of this, and even if there was a sticky or something, we all know not everyone reads stickies. I think it is a bit unfair to punish new users for their ignorance.

For what it's worth @crazypipe, I don't think the TWC was given to you because mods think you are untrustworthy (you seem to think this in your original post). It was probably given to you because of your ignorance which is a bit of a liability especially given your market reputation =/

 

yeah but at the same time new traders wont have as many imposters, rules suggest that any scam coming from your skype account during the same day makes you liable. Thanks for everyone for the discussion btw
