yeah i was thinking about this.
3 answers to that
Firstly, i'm sure the system will be able to handle it, haven't heard much but will probably get this 1070 card coming out from nvidia, i had the 970 and that was fine. I will have to do some research but it would probably be built with an i5 6600k or newer and a 1070, which should easily run runescape 4K
Secondly the setup would also be for videos, editing gopro (from Mountain biking) photography and that, and many other things. I have never experienced 4K and when i got my 1080P i was really surprised of the quality (had an asus vg248qe or whatever) so 4K would probably blow my mind (hopefully)
thirdly, although I like the idea of 1440P, it seems like a cop out to me. I won't be doing much more gaming, and if i would i would get the 144HZ 1080P but i doubt it. However, 1440P 144HZ is the dream, but they are like double the price of a cheap (but good quality) 4K screen so that is out of the window for me.
Furthermore, I feel that 1440P is halfway to 4k (literally) but i don't see the point as I may as well go full 4K. in fact the prices are pretty much the same so this is my main concern.
Also, anyone with a 4K monitor, how is RS in 4k? I saw some people having problems with zooming in, but it would seem that now this is possible. I love the idea of a massive free space, and also the controllability (downsizing to 1080P if needs be)
Well, when I built my system. I kept it mind that 1. Yes I would have a beefy system that COULD handle games at 4k. But did I really need to spend the money on a gimmick that still isn't fully fleshed out yet. 2. I knew I was going to be playing games at high graphics and I wanted fast gameplay/smooth gameplay, so I went with a higher refresh rate, and lower response time. And 3. I knew I was going to be doing photo editing/video editing as well. So I wanted something like an IPS model. So I (my personal preference at the time) went for the IPS ROG Swift 165hz monitor. Fast, awesome panel, beautiful resolution but not over the top. And the price for it was pretty acceptable.
I use both a TN, and an IPS panel and it's amazing man. Honestly, 4k is good, but it's not great. And if you're only going to be playing RS and editing and shit, 4k will look ass on programs like Photoshop and stuff because of how small everything is. I hate 4k just for the reason alone, I can't stand how small everything is.
