Player mods - when does jagex recruit?

i read somewhere that there are phases in the year that jagex looks for player mods, and that those are the times where you have to look perfect if you want a chance at mod.

I am a fairly good flamer and troll on the rs forums, made a couple kids who were anti-free trade/wildy close their threads due to reversing logic to making them look selfish, thus letting me rip them up "umadbro" {which i do not use often, it is just a fitting phrase}

basically, i have wanted mod for ages, and i know i am fucking up a ton(in regards to flaming), i am looking for anyone with knowledge about how the pmod selection process works to help me understand it to better my chances.
this is the account in question, none of my other accounts have any blackmarks or have ever been used for things against rs rules
[i have used RiD for about 3-4 hours on this account but no other bots ever]
b/c the offenses were not appealed, does that highly limit my chances, even though they were 5 years ago?



1) what are the time periods that jagex looks for pmod candidates, when do they have the candidates under a microscope, is it possible to know if your account is being considered?
2) what is the best way to get noticed? is sort of messing around w/ mods like with rubber chicken good or bad, or is just being nice, agreeing with what they say, supporting them, or is simply "sucking dick" the best method.
3) is it safe to fuck around with stuff like flaming and trolling noobs on the rs forums when not in the searching for candidates period?
4) do you need to have the spelling/grammar skills of a college english professor and never use slang terms?
5) if i were to spam them using multiple contact methods with multiple messages[e-mail, snail-mail] {saying how good my account is, entering contests, messages saying this is only way to contact you along with other info}
6) does jagex still take player mod recommendations from ppl who are already mods?
7) if yes, do they have any influence at all
8) if 6 and 7 are yes, when jagex is recruiting, how much do recommendations cost?
9) does duration of playing have any effect on chances of being mod (7+ yrs)

my friend who has several pmod's added, has said that they have a list of players being considered, is where i get this from

i ask this, because it seems that once you get mod, jagex doesn't give a fuck what you do. friends friend who got mod while my friend was on his account while he was in hospital and they looked at account while my friend was having the "perfect" conversation. now, he rwts, flames, breaks most of the rules and no problems at all.

JaGex picks player moderators at random times, by random measures.
From the moderators I've known I can conclude there's no logic to how they pick them.

 

There definitely isn't a season of Mods. They pick you if they think your right, not if you do the right thing at the right time.

 

1) Probably US summer time where all the kids are on break, and no you can't really tell if your account is considered.

2) Kissing ass, hang around in Clan chats with lots of P mods and J mods. Post alot on forums helping others and posting useful content.

3) No probably not, i'm sure they check your posts on RSOF.

4) I'm not sure about this one, most are pretentious twats who pride themselves of their grammar and will be the first to correct someones mistake although i have met 2 mods who typed with tonnes of abbreviations and poor grammar in which i'm guessing they were just really young or not from an English speaking background

5) Don't spam them, you wont stand out and will probably ruin your chances on that account

7) They won't mean much unless the moderator is a veteran or highly ranked e.g duel moderators.

8) Not sure but it probably won't do much unless its mods from my previous comment

9) Not especially, they won't make you a mod based on that so it doesn't matter, although being maxed 99 everything/120 dung seems to help or get you noticed.

They do check your other accounts to, so best to get a new IP and avoid logging into accounts in which you think might ruin your shot at player moderator.

 

i support if you have to post "umadbro" after everytime you think you won a fight then i think you should quit insted

First, don't have sythe up while you play runescape, because I heard they can see that? Also, just be a "good" person helping people out and what not, but there isn't really a "certain" time they do it.

 

Don't really think just being on the site gets you an automatic no; you'll probably be fine as long as you don't bot, etc.

A friend of mine had mentioned to me that he had to take down a few of his accounts because a pmod had reported them as being sold or something, so I'm sure that even they may 'visit' the site from time to time.

 

They can't see what you're doing. RuneScape is not a remote access tool.
the only thing they can track is the serverside mouse movements and keystrokes... meaning things you put into their game server ONLY. nothing else.

 

When JaGex chooses to promote a player to a moderator, they choose someone fairly mature who reflects the true way their game was intended to be. This includes being mature AND polite at all time. If you want a chance to get promoted, you better start being nice Second of all, a player who has received blackmarks has his chance of being promoted dramatically diminished. You won't see a mod with 10 active blackmarks. Although if a player HAS received one or two blackmarks and they have been SUCCESSFULLY appealed, they might be washed off your case. Third of all, your best chance of getting noticed are to be active in the forums and participate in various activities organized by jmods. All depends on your maturity and when JaGex will start recruiting (which they do at complete random time) you might get a chance.

 

Hang out in the clan chat "Crown Chat" or "CrownChat" as it's full of P Mods (All ranks are P Mods).
Using proper grammar helps out in general.
Go to events on the forums, like the events Jagex/Player Mods host.
Help out on the forums in general (Account Help section).
Make friends with a P Mod but treat them as a regular player (after all they are a normal player) then after a few weeks/months ask if they're willing to recommend you.
Account creation date does not matter, I've seen fairly new Mods who didn't have a clue what the old wilderness/free trade was like.

I don't really like this because even if you DO follow all of the above you may never be picked... :S

I don't think messing around with moderators with rubber chicken will increase your chances. I doubt it would decrease your chances as well. Have a good attitude in-game and while you're on the forum.

As I said, I'm pretty sure it's random. I would avoid flaming and trolling.

I'm pretty sure Jagex doesn't want someone talking like "OMG did u see dat n00b i just pked LLS." I think talking normally and just using slang terms every now and then is fine.

theres no such thing as this, what they check is if you report players and most of all IF YOU TRY TO HELP THEM as they will check the logs of before you reported them. If you try and help people out before reporting them or trying to solve a probleme with someone bitching on someone else then you might increase your chances. When you see someone botting try make him talk, talk to him ask him questions try to block is way THEN you can report him. If jagex sees that you're an involved friendly player then you might get your chance and yes i think if you troll around on forum its not helping you at all to get Mod on rs, usually they manage to pick up players that are nearly perfect in their actions.. of course we know its not always the truth lol

 

They are picked through they're activity and how helpful they are in the general community, they are picked at random times.

Moderator picking isn't like spring cleaning, it doesn't all just get done at once then left to rebuild until the next time.
