Not a good idea.... I would never risk my firecape way to hard to get.

This. I wouldn't say a fire cape is really "hard" to get - depending on the account of course. But it does take some effort and time to get another, therefore using it as an advantage and a risk would best be placed in fights in which the risk is well worth the death.
