Hey, trick with low level gmauling, is they eat at semi low hp, when you spec, if you pull out your maul one knife earlier than you would usually you should generally ko them.
I'd say max out for a higher cb where str is near 70.
50 att 70 str, should be around 82 range/magic.
If you cant be bothered getting 82 range, then don't let your str get to high otherwise you will be shit for your combat.

You should try karil bow to gmaul and also rcbow to gmaul and hope for a good dbolt hit.

Dont give up, buy multiply sets ull get a few kills use d bolts all the time for lucky specs
