PKing Guide: Spereff's Swift and Smoothest

    Status: Incomplete
DO NOT PLAGERIZE, OR TAKE IDEAS OFF THIS GUIDE.
I will ALWAYS add more things to this guide, once I get the info.

This is a guide for all you junior PKers out there, it contains basic information, and other tips to know, when you're in the wild. It's mostly P2P, but does have contents that do involve F2P. Enjoy reading this, and I hope you gain something from it.

This is NOT COMPLETED, I will add more later. It's a brief guide to PKing so far.

Spereff's Swift and Smooth PKing Guide

    Contents
    1. Introduction
    2. Prepartion (Both P2P And F2P)
    - Melee
    - Magic
    - Ranging
    3. Where to PK
    - Locations
    4. Types of PKing
    5. Tips and Tricks
    - Hints
    - Of course, Tips and Tricks.

    Introduction

So, you've decided to to going onto PKing? Well, this is why this guide is here. But first, you need to make a commitment to yourself. Are you ready to face other players, face their insults such as "noob, safer...and all those other strange comments? But most importantly, are you willing to risk your life, risk your dignity, and risk your items? If you can not bear to lose any of your pixels, then please, stop reading this guide right now. If you're willing to be courageous, and have the determination and heart to kill other players in RS, then this is the guide for you.

PKing is one the greatest ways of making money. It can actually be the slowest, or the fastest. It could take you a couple of weeks, or months to pk a whip, but if you have enough luck, you could get a whip a day. =) So brace yourself for gains, and losses.

Preperation - Short Wilderness (Edgeville, Varrock)

Obviously, you aren't going into the wilderness looking like a bear hobo, with some pieces of crap. Let's get on with the equipment. You'll need a good, solid, melee defence, that's always one of the keys. A good amulet, and good accesories play parts in this to. This is what I usually wear:

    MEMBERS (P2P)

    Melee

I've choosen this template, because I think it works well. The Initiate armour provides average defence, and not so bad against magic. It's good enough to survive in the wild, but remember to use prayer and food when needed. It's quite cheap, approximately 200k, so it's not much to lose.

    Equipment Info:

Helmet: Initiate Sallet: This is for the prayer bonuses. Can be also altered with a Rune Full Helm - Berserker Helmet - Warrior Helmet - Barrows Helmet - Dragon Medium Helmet
Plate: Initiate Cuisse: For the prayer bonus. Initiate armour is fairly cheap. Alternatives: Rune Plate, Granite Plate, Dragon Chain, Barrows Body
Plate Legs: Initiate Hauberk Once again, prayer. Alternatives: Rune plate legs, Granite Legs, Dragon Hide Legs (Preferably Red or Black), Dragon Legs
Cape: Guthix Cape: Divine Gods in RS capes provide good defence, esepcially magic. Your initiate plates may be weak towards magic a bit, but your cape can even it out. Alternatives: Fire Cape, Legends' Cape, Obby Cape, (That thing on the back lol)
Boots: Climbing Boots: They provide some defence, with a +2 STR bonus, which is excellent. 12GP at the Troll Stronghold, in a house, or for 2k in crowded worlds, banks. Alternatives: Rune Boots
Gloves: DragonHide Vambraces: DragonHide Vambraces are great to use in your Gloves Slot. They protect you well from Mages, and provide protection. (Blue Dhide+ is recommended) Alternatives: Klanks Gloves, or any other gloves that give attack bonuses.
Amulet: Amulet of Strength: Bonus: +10 Strength. Isn't that great? It's good for hoping to hit those high numbers. Alternatives: Amulet of Glory, Amulet of Power, Fury...
Ring: Ring of Recoil: When your opponent hits you, some damage they hit, is dealt back to them. It's great. If you hate "red-barring" players after they have attacked, the recoil make sures they don't get red-barred. :) Unforunately, they shatter after 40 points of damage. They are approximately 1k-3k in banks, by players. Alternatives: Berserker Ring, Warrior Ring, Ring of Life (In case you don't wanna die)
Weapon: Dragon Scimitar: It's a great, cheap weapon. It's accurate, fast, and hits quite hiiiiigh. A terrific weapon, I believe. Alternatives: Abyssal Whip, Dragon LongSword

I tried experimenting with a cheap, easy to use, and effective set-up. This came out as one of the cheapest, and best.

    Inventory

In your inventory, as a warrior, ALWAYS bring a stat booster, such as a super set. THEY ARE EXTREMELY USEFUL. It's good to also bring PRAYER POTIONS, so you can regain your prayer during a fight.

I chose to put in a dragon hide armour, is so when a mage comes to attack you, you can quickly wear the armour, and defend against the mage. They most likely won't hit, due to the tough, armour.

A Dragon Dagger. (In my picture, instead of equipping the D Scim, I equipped the DDS) In your inventory, make sure to have a DDS, for using your special bar up. Alternatives: Granite Maul, Dragon Mace
Bring a weapon to waste your special bar.

Food: Make sure you have some good food to heal you. My advice is to bring swordfish, monkfish, sharks, and as your last, last, last resort, lobsters.

That covers most of the Melee part. Before going into the wilderness...
Go to an alter, and make sure your prayer points are FULL. Check at your stats, and make sure that they are all restored properly. Check your inventory, to see that you have everything you need. Before attacking an opponent:

    - Super Pot - Attack, Strength, Defence.
    - Equip your Special Attack weapon: DDS, G maul...etc.
    - Click your Special Attack bar, to make sure your next attack is specialized.
    - Turn on TWO prayers: 15% Attack and Strength (If you have an expensive weapon, use Protect Item. It's also reconmmened to use Smite)
    - Attack your opponent, hope for high, good hits from your special attack.
    - Repeat, until you cannot special.
    - Change to your MAIN weapon, and continue on attacking, until they hopefully, die.
    - Eat when health falls below 45%
    OR
    - Attack, when HP gets low, Granite Maul Spec X2/DDS Spec
    - Specing in the beginning causes surprise, and specing at the end can cause a nice KO

    Magic

    Soon to come.

    Ranging

    Soon to come.

AND MORE TO COME. I will update every day, until finished.

You should mention that this is for mains.

Also vambs? wtf? RFD gloves are way more common these days.

Also, never spec at start of fights. Thats the most pathetic thing you could ever do. Always start out with your primary weapon and switch to dds and use as a k0 method at around half hp or lower.

It isn't really a guide, just some hints listed. You might want to finish a guide first before posting it :p And about the 200k, maybe he included the dds and d scimmy and the price of the sharks into it.

Yeah, I will. It's just, I have to also get ready for the magic, and ranging templates, and it's hard to find the right materials that are effective. I'm pretty poor in RS lol.

    Yeah, I know it's shit.

It's supposed to give a bit of info to beginner PKers, not for some experts who have been PKing for 3 years.

It's not even finished yet. :|

Initiate armour is shit, mainly becuz its for prayer.
U use it oninitiate pures, not mains.. And its 30k, not 200k.
And a DDS' Special is for a k0, not using it up at the beggining.
If u have a character with 40+ defence, wear rune.. not initiate.
and God books are not Good when using melee, unless melee/mage combo.
LOL, oh and i cant wait for the range and mage section to come :)

To me, its useless information >.> Sorreh. u tried.
