Hope people dont mind me keep asking questions, got some pretty smart people here and its actually helping me alot :D <3

So im moving on to momentum in 2 diffrent directions now.

A 1325 kg mass moving north at 27 m/s collides with a 2165 kg mass traveling east at 17 m/s. If the masses become entangled with what speed and direction will they move immediately following the collision?

I think im going to have to start using Trig. to solve for Force along "X" and "Y" Axis.

Draw your two body problem, and draw your triangles. It will move off in the x direction with some respect to theta, and the y direction with some respect to theta. Sines and cosines! I need to go get chow or I'd give you more help.

Use conservation of momentum and find the momentum in the x and y directions. Then using the magnitudes you can find the resultant speed and angle it is going in.

I don't mean to be rude or anything, but why don't you pay attention in class? Shouldn't they be teaching you how to do this?

Don't tell me you come home from class every day, sit down to do your homework, and never have that feeling of "Well shit. How do you do this again?".

p = 1325*27 kgm/s north + 2165*17 kgm/s east
use trig to find resultant angle
and pythagorean theorem to find magnitude of the resultant momentum vector, then divide by the total mass (27 + 17) to get final speed

First of all thats rude there is no need to post stuff like that..

Also im already graduate im doing this for me, if i dident want to do the work and learn how to do it, i would not be in this course.

THE REASON. Is because i am doing this course ONLINE!

Hence, no teachers. So if they dont explain it quite right (or in a way that i might not understand), then I have to go to other resources to figure things out. I find people on here quite a helpfull resource.

I would also like to thank everyone who has helped me in my random Physics questions :D <3
Got 89% on my momentum test :D
