Photoshop vs GIMP... :(

Kinastetic I know for a fact has paid for it.

 

Kinae definitely has paid for it, as he has a career in graphics. Most people designing stuff here do it for a hobby. Also, I would stick to Photoshop, like some have said, it is a lot more user-friendly and has many more resources to use than GIMP.

 

It doesn't make sense to avoid a download because it has a "chance" to harm your computer. Every file/website on the entire internet has a "chance" of harming your computer.

There are places where you can get photoshop that 250,000 people have successfully gotten it from and written reviews. I understand you being cautious, but lol..

yeah im about to pay for mine soon. but i have to for school. and if i go to any compositions the look and see if you bought it.
(and i have to buy the whole suit)

 

GIMP is impossible for learners / newbies eg me. The design looks complicated and much more user friendly for people who are used to photo editing.

Photoshop much more advanced and easier to learn.

 

Would you really use the whole suite though? You seem to be more interested in primarily static design so only PS and maybe AI would likely appeal to you.

Ouch, I guess it'll be nice to legitimately own all of those licenses though.

 

not at all, i tought of photoshop to be impossible when i was used to gimp (which i started with)

 

yeah i get a 3 yeah subscription to the cc witch will be nice.

yeah same here honestly they are the same thing but photoshop has layer styles. now obviously photoshop has way more to offer. but gimp is basically a dumb down photoshop.

 

You my friend are wrong, unless you don't want to learn. Gimp has a much better UI for beginners.

I started with Photoshop and I think its better starting with something you gunna use then starting with GIMP and switch to photoshop when ur starting to be good (and then u have to learn again :S)

 

I am actually loving Gimp right now !
