Phishing

Phishing is illegal. Period. Chances are, you're a script kiddy that found how to host an html page on a free server.

Phishing does not only have to do with runescape, And Runescape would probably be the hardest(If possible at all) to prosecute someone for since it's dealing with virtual goods.

I was only suggesting this because I have answered a number of threads asking if phishing is allowed.

So I suppose sythe dont have to tell you that its against rules, its like hacking is illegal but it doesnt say anything about that in the rules?

 

In the rules I believe it stats that you can't bring anything illegal onto this forum.

 

I agree as well that they should emphasize that phishing isn't tolerated specifically instead of only saying scamming

 

I believe when we sell runescape goods (or time) that could be interpreted as copyright infringment, as well as the runescape images people use on here for their shops etc. So there is actually some illegal activity going on in here...

One thing, think to your self...
For someone who has the intentions of phishing/scamming peoples accounts, do you really think they would even take note of this, better yet even read the rules?

This isn't really needed towards the people who want to be an honest/active member to the community of sythe... but should be acknowledged to all sythe members that there is phishing sites out there, and that we should be careful when signing into sythe from a link via msn, email or even pm...

Well, you do have to be prety dumb to log on a phishing, but they do have that legal agreement when u sign up, asking if you came here to scam people. It is a legal contract so yeah.

Lol, ive read this thread and cant help but notice all the banned/temp banned people. But, i do agree that they should have some type of rule against it as it is really going around right now.

 

it needs to be put out there a little better so all users can plainly see that it is Illegal and can get you banned.
