They've been doing those e-mails for awhile now, thanks anyways.

I warned my mum about this sort of stuff ( Fake emails an stuff )
She had no idea ppl could fake the email address an stuff >_<

 

I haven't received any phishing mails with banners and stuff so far.

 

They just get worse and worse.
If you find one make sure you report it to Google and Phishtank.

 

Phishers are easy to detect. Hover over the link and look bottom left of your web browser. If the link you are hovering over does not match with the link bottom left, do not click. Simple eh?

 

I have many people trying to phish me daily, always unsuccessful. I let them waste their time and effort. This isn't really new but thanks for the heads up. Alot of people would fall for these or it wouldn't keep going.

 

That is the best one I've seen yet right there dude, I'm really sick of getting the emails too.

 

I don't get these too often cuz I never really give out my email. But I can see how someone would fall for that.

 

I am pretty sure someone is just lurking on sythe and looking at emails/msns that are public and probably randomly sending it. Since mine is private still haven't gotten one lol. Could be wrong but just a guess. I keep hearing so many people on sythe getting them. Haven't seen that one before though with the runescape image and stuff they just keep trying >_<

Hopefully most of us use common sense to not to fall for those.

Impressive. Those emails are getting more real looking every day.

 

Let me tell you all a very sad story. 3 months ago I recieved an email, the email said that I was chosen to play runescape classic server, I was very excited and clicked the linked and logged in to play, it didn't work, so I was like oh well. A week later My whole bank was gone except random event items and junk. My bank was worth 120m, I was like how can someone figure out my pass? I haven't told anyone my pass. So then after a while I found out that it was because of the link I clicked. Sad story

 

Should've been smart and hovered over the link... /facepalm

OT: Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully no one needed to know this, as you should ALWAYS hover over the link first, no matter how legit the email looks.

 

IMO this is more fail than the previous standard, why would Jagex include a banner in their email. Either way, don't fall for it.
