Does anyone here partake in a philosophy class? I find all the stuff rather interesting, especially since i already have thought about most of the stuff, and it just builds on that.

My favorite thing in the whole philosophy world is : You can't prove to me what is real, because it may not be real.

    or

What i see as real is real, and what you see as real is false.

I've been reading up on it but the more I read the more questions I have and it gets irritating.

In my country philosophy is mandatory in most of high schools.
    And yes, it is interesting.

Oh yeah, where are you from? I know you can get a major in philosophy, but what can you actually do with it in real life, for a job?

When I don't go to study hall and go to the Library instead, I usually read on philosophy, Immanuel Kant, etc...

You should read The Republic by Plato. Not sure what jobs you can get as a philosopher other than writing books and giving lectures.

    I love philosophy.

Talking philosophically with my friends is probably my most favorite hobby. Just smoking a blunt and figuring shit out... yes.

    Meh, Philosophy.
I think the concepts are pretty cool, but I'm just not that into it.
The real problem I have with it is that it's so vague. Questions are answers, answers are questions...etc, etc.

I think that far too often people read too much into Philosophy. There should be a "What you should take from Philosophy, and how to apply it" mandatory course coupled with Philosophy. People run wild with Philosophy too often.

I had Philosophy class in college a year ago.

Was lot of reading about aristotle and them guys.

Towards end of semester we got to watch the Matrix(1st one) which has a lot of philosophical issues within the plot.

But i agree, its far more intriguing then the basic classes at school.

I'm taking psychology next year, maybe a bit similar. Don't major in philosophy in college. You will, from what I've unanimously heard, sorely regret it.

In one of my required gen ed classes we discuss some philosophers, most recently we have been studying and contrasting the epistemologies of Plato and Aristotle. Pretty interesting for the most part.
