OK i downloaded that game^.

It works fine, but when i play it, it's laggy.

I'm getting a new computer soon but while i have this what doesn't let it play smoothly.

Computer specs.

Windows XP, service pack 2
Pentium 4 CPU 2.80GHZ
1.50GB RAM
Radeon 9550 card.
No idea what my soundcard is..but it's good enough.
I have about 250GB harddrive.

Please tell me which isn't good enough to play Need for speed pro street.

Thankyou.

Windows XP, service pack 2 <--- Good, Vista Blows for Games
Pentium 4 CPU 2.80GHZ <---- I have About the Same, Not To Great .
I would recommend a Duel Core Processor, Your Video card Needs a Good processor to Pump its Max, Duel core will Do that
1.50GB RAM <--- If thats DDR2 Ram, Your Set.
Radeon 9550 card. <---- I would go with Nvidia 8000 Series, I got my 8600 GT Superclocked for 200 CDN
No idea what my soundcard is..but it's good enough. <-- I got the Realtek HD Audio - Can hear Footsteps Faraway,
I have about 250GB harddrive. < ---- Great Size, But i would get a External Harddrive for Random files that Can Contain Virus's Other wise ur Main Harddrive would Goto Shit

Hopefully That Helps :D

Radeon 9550 card
Even though you didn't mention the amount of memory on your video card I can still safely say that, that is the issue. The Radeon 9550 chipset is somewhat outdated and doesn't feature much of the newer technology so it will not be able to render a lot of the game as it was intended and will also cause you to experience the "lag" that you speak of.

I'd recommend buying a newer ATI or Nvidia video card whichever is your preference and although it's best not to buy the newest ones out there because the prices are outrageous, you shouldn't go skimpy on it either because buying a good one will give you a few years without having to worry about it. Consider buying one that just came out in the last few months, hope this was helpful.:)

getting a new graphics card would probable be the best. and perhaps a new CPU if ya can.
You're an A+ Certified Computer Technician and that's all you came up with?

His CPU is fine anyway, anything over 2.8Ghz is good for another year at least even if it's not Dual Core.

keep it simple, theres was no need to say anymore. As a A+ certified proffesional your suppose to explain things in an easy way to understand and not use technical terms.

The game has a minimum requirement of 2.8GHz so the game will work but will benefiters from a gretter CPU. Same with his graphics card it metes the requirements but will benefit if it was better.

Well thanks everyone that responded, no it's not a demo, i downloaded the full version. That was just because i wanted to show you which game.

The graphics card is probably the problem, but yes, i am getting a new PC soon i think.

Once again, thanks everyone :)

First off, why are you telling him what you have? That's irrelevant.

Second, "Vista blows for games" it blows that bad, there are vista specific games? hmm

I agree about Dual Core, and his graphics card is old now.

And btw, and external HDD doesnt stop you getting a viri :S

it doesnt block him from getting a virus, it keeps viruses from corrupting his main internal hdd
