Petition to use donation amount to repay scam victims

A prime example would be this user: Chin Lauw
He was a $50 donator and scammed atleast one person around that amount. My suggestion here is to allow bondholders (with global permission) to deactivate their donation and use the donated amount to repay his scam victims partially.

This suggestion will apply to all donators by the way, not just this user.

 

Where/what does the money for donations go to currently?

And would you be able to 'refund/reclaim' money from a donation to payback in this case?
Or would the money have been and gone already?

 

Sythe and Matthew are already concerned about not having enough sythe funds to keep the site self sufficient and you want to rip away all the donations banned users make which is probably literally 75% of donations.

Yes. Donating works like this: You pay bondholders in any currency they accept. They donate for you in return through PayPal directly to the website. We're all having some kind of "bond" which we must recharge time over time again when it's empty. Meaning: We pay X amount to via the website directly to Sythe and this X amount gets added to our bond. We can use our bond to handle everyone's donation. Cancelling someone's donation would make us receive the money again on our bond.

 

This isn’t a suggestion that needs to be proposed to the community it’s not their decision to make. Go directly to Richard, I don’t see anything ever coming of this.

 

@Wortel You most likely already know this, so I don't know if you're after community 'backing' in order to persuade Sythe or what.

 

Not really, some people actually care for what the community thinks.
