I am explaining it well, you just don't understand it which shouldn't be my problem but i'll spell it out further.

Children are at a very Early developmental stage both physically and mentally. They are very susceptible to persuasions from older figures because that is where they learn daily lessons from.

Now put a child anywhere under the age of 16 in a sexual situation with someone who is older (in this case an adult) and they won't have the logical reasoning skills yet to assess the situation to what it actually is. They can't really decide on whether or not they want what they're doing, but they do see the adult saying they want it so they assume the same mind set of the adult and go along with the sexual act as if it were their own idea.

Basically: Too young to understand the decision.

 

I understand your argument better now. Thanks. It is based on the assumption that there is something significant about the decision. It's meaningless once you take out the importance that society has put on it.

 

The decision is significant because your asking a child- someone who has very little to no experience or knowledge in the field of sexuality or any ability to comprehend what kind of decision your making.

It's not really a simple idea that it's only wrong because society places it in that category, its also a matter of whether or not they understand the choice they're making and in a large percentage that is true and holds true.

 

in holland the media is giving them way too much attention... they should just lock em up for life.

They may not be able to control it, but should seek help; children cannot give consent. It's rape. On top of it being rape, it is on helpless children. I don't see how you can compare pedophiles to gays past the fact that they "can't help it." The situations are very different.

 

Children can give consent! It's not even unheard of for the child to initiate the sex.

 

Its their fault if they do anything. They need to get private consoling...

 

Eh, children cant give appropriate consent. They can only do what they've seen before as a model from other adults, this also leads to some children initiating it.
