PC started lagging while gaming

I kinda play Battlefield 4 often lately but since I came back on holidays, ran CCleaner to clean up my PC and used Driver Cleaner Pro to clean up previous graphics drivers, my PC started lagging. Would love some help with this. I'm quite sure a fresh Windows installation would help, but is there anything I can do before this?

Lagging in what way exactly? Are you getting terrible FPS? Are things taking longer than normal to load?

Try running a driver update from MSI and then be sure you got the most recent nvidia gfx card updates.

 

Could be chrome tbh. Your i3 is a dual core and you're only running 6 gigs of ram, chrome could easily dump on your performance.

 

True but I never had this issue before. Sure my PC wasn't the best, but it didn't have constant lag.

Mainly screenlag. I haven't watched the FPS so I'll do that later today. Will also update my GFX drivers again.

 

The amount of resources chrome uses isn't always consistent. Just try running your game with nothing else running at all.

 

could be your cpu fan kicking in from dust, clean it.

 

Check to see if either your SSD or Hard Drive space is close to filling up.

Open task manager on one of your monitors while playing the game to check if your CPU, Memory, or Disk is filling up when you hit a lag spike.

Respond back with the results and I'll try to help you resolve the issue.

Thanks guys. It has improved somehow when I updated my graphic drivers again. Somehow I vaguely remember Driver Cleaner Pro and possibly it also removed my current graphic driver haha. It worked better once I updated my graphic drivers again. Sadly I am unable to play the Battlefield 1 Beta though.

Well, sounds like you should buy a new 10 series laptop

 

A few friends of me have bought new PC's and I am allowed to take over their leftovers which are still better than my current computer, so that should allow me playing Battlefield 1 on low with high FPS atleast.

 

SSD isn't like hard disk, it doesn't matter how full it is.
