PC died need help

So i was running Nexus today and when i came back after 15 mins
I noticed that my PC was frozen.
So i resetted my PC and found out that my monitor didnt switch on anymore.
I think its my PSU that died maby someone els had the same problem please post here.

VGA card is good
The RAM is good
The CPU is working because the HDD spins up when i start the PC.

 

what happens when you try to turn it on?

This happened to me yesterday when I put some RAM in, double check that you have put it in correctly. Does the monitor turn on but stay blank, not register a signal, or stay offline?

 

Well the RAM is working i have tried to switch slots. The monitor does work but doesnt switch on. I can reset the PC so i don't think that it is the RAM or the CPU. So it really looks like that it is the PSU or the Motherboard. But its kinda weird because the PC froze... and then when i restarted the Monitor doesnt switch on anymore.

 

Get another monitor and see if it works. And that doesnt mean its isent a problem with the ram or cpu. The RAM stick could be broken not the slot.

I know what im talking about but im not sure if i understand you. So let me get this straight.

Your computer froze so you truned it off and then reseated the CPU.

I think you broke your CPU (and i dont think it mattes if the HD is spinning or not). Which you may not have known CPU's can be easily broken by static electricity. So when you touched your CPU you had some static electricty on you and it toasted the CPU.

 

I never said i reseated the CPU? besides i do know alot of computers my self i finished computer college + i have worked over 40+ weeks in a PC shop but i quited it... it was way to boring. All you do is Build PCs, Fix PC's and shit like that. I'm also Cisco certified.

 

Just to dispel everything, try the damn monitor on another PC.

When your machine is off are there any LED lights on the motherboard that are on?

And does your video card require a 6 pin PCI-E connector?

I have a AGP card it uses 4 PIN but i have tried an older VGA card that doesnt need extra power but then same problem.

 

Then you should know that answer. And what cisco cert do u have?

 

I can only find out the answer if i have the stuff to test it out... the problem could be alot of things.
And i only got CCNA cert its more about networks and shit.
