PayPal MyCash Card

So I've had a few customers asking if they could buy gold with a PayPal MyCash Card. So I was wondering, is there no risk of them charging this back after the purchase? I've denied it so far but if it turns out it's completely risk-free for me I'm going to start accepting it. Did some research on google and found a few websites that were contradicting each other.

I've never had any customers charge back, but i've had Paypal limit my account 20+ times from redeeming too many without actually purchasing anything online with them.

There was a problem for a while when redeeming any card over 100$, not sure if it's fixed or not would have to ask someone like @Menno / @Travis

Also you have to be American, I didn't think you were.

Info comes from working for Bogla for over a year and redeeming well over 10k worth of cards. Never had any permanent damage done to my account, just a lot of hassle phoning Paypal to get the limitation off. I would suggest using an account you don't send/receive a lot of payments on, but also an account that is completely verified.

 

Googling around, many bitcoin sellers say they've been fucked with paypal mycash cards. On the paypal forums theres a topic and someone said you can get chargedback:

Also, Those cards are specifically used to fund your paypal account. If you get a code and immediately withdraw it to your bank account your paypal account may be limited. (Probably because it can be seen as money laundering)

If possible, have the person provide proof of purchase of the card, if it's done with cash and not a credit card then I'd assume you'd be fine.

 

Normally merchants who accept them, have them take a picture of the card held up to the current live chat, front + back + receipt. Helps with a lot of cards that are fraudulent, although I'm not too sure how someone would go about finding a fraudulent card .

 

PayPal my cash cards are safe to use. Never heard anyone get charged back from them I've redeemed many of them and none were a problem

 

Thanks for the input! I think I'm going to refrain from taking this as a from of payment, I don't want my PayPal account limited nor do I want to ask my customers for verification.
