Well as of right now i have received bad news.... My parents are seperating... My mom just finished talking to me that my dad is super pissed she is working now and he doesnt want her working. So he is deciding to leave. They are going to talk to me when he gets home at 11:30 pm today. so im just waiting... i think my dad ismaking a hhorrible mistake... but o well... im fine with it... its not really affecting me much right now but i know it will in the future... the only thing i worry about is my lil bro. idk how to explain to him so guys wat should i do or wat

Make it positive. Tell him "Hey mom/dad are seperating, i know it sucks but we can stay up late...etc"

Sounds to me like the person that needs help the most right now is you little brother. I know first hand that it's not easy as a child to see your parents separating like that. Although it's never good to see two people separating apart, maybe it is best for them to make this decision. I wish you luck with whatever happens, and I hope this helps.

How old is your bro?

Just be honest with your brother. I have a 12 year old brother that really looks up to me but I am very straight up with him and he appreciates it. If not now, he will eventually begin to realize the truth. Just be the big brother and get him to understand what's going on and that everything will be alright.

You should tell it as it is. Be very frank, and don't try to hide the reality. Be there for him, and act like the fatherly figure when needed. Btw, just because your parents are splitting up doesn't mean that you can't keep that relationship going with your father. Try to see him as often as you can, bring your brother along too. Best of luck.

I was 5 when my parents were divorced, and my sister who is 7 years older than me, did a fine job explaining it for me.

It depends if your dad/mom are moving far away from eachother,
Whose house your going to live at,
days your going to visit the other parent.

Tell your little brother its really nothing to worry about, because its not.

Say this to your little brother "Mom and Dad are getting a divorce." if he asks what it means say "you know how me and you sometimes fight when you walk into my room and take my stuff while i'm at school (or w.e he does to annoy you)" Then say "Well mom and dad are doing the same thing and people often fight when they live with each other so they want to take a break from eachother"

Honestly.. Why do you have to tell him?

They're splitting up. They should tell him. It's not your responsibility to have to tell your little brother something like that.

Often when parents are splitting up, they're preoccupied with way too much (stress, etc.).
