Chargeback?

Hi,

So I didn't use sythe but my friend "King Tjin" recommend I sign up I want to ask what you guys think about this.

I paid for a firecape from a playerauctions person named "Mary-fan" they have 19k feedback in total

I got the firecape but the worker cleaned out my account, hasnt even left the gear he did jad in, I also dont have a single rune or even 1gp so its obvious that its been cleaned out. I spoke to mary-fan she said shes unsure why this has happend but the worker has been working for 3 years and said he didnt do anything.


In total I lost roughtly 40m osrs gp in this event worth roughly $120usd.

I opened a dispute for the fire cape to get $20 and it looks like mary might just refund me that anyway which is odd if she thinks i wanst scammed .


What do I do next because if i do win ill be $100 down still, I wanted to just buy 40m off her and chargeback but thats not right there must be a right way of resolving this.

I have video footage of my bank the night before on twitch.tv as I went sara and got a drop so thats on there to see hours before I paid for the firecape.


What steps should I take next

 

PlayerAuctions take a lot of precaution with PayPal and from what I've heard it is very hard to win a chargeback against them, so I don't think you'll win it. Also even if you do win the chargeback PlayerAuctions takes the loss, MaryFan would still get paid, so if it's revenge you're looking for then she won't be negatively effected at all.

 

I dont want revenge I just would like my stuff back I'm not sure what I can do it jsut seems odd that there almost willing to refund me for the firecape order although I got it despite caliming non of the workers took my stuff

 

You would be much better off using their customer support system then trying to charge them back.

 

Charging them back will just make it harder for you to get anything back. Contact mary-fan and see if you can work something out.

 

They win disputes, not chargebacks.

You can't prove that the worker did it, but it's most likely that is what happened. You did get your firecape so there would be no sense in charging back the payment from that. Don't let anyone on your runescape for anything, take this experience as a lesson.

 

Talk to Customer Support on that one. It's not playerauctions fault that you were scammed. They will help you sort it out if you were cleaned and scammed out of a service on their site.

Realistically it would be hard to prove you got scammed, however just tell them the truth and all the info you have, no chargeback.

are you sure it was them? maybe you had a rat already on your pc or you posted info on a false site

 

Well,hell yeah he can prove the worker did it.
As i read above,he have video of his bank before/after the work.
Off-site or in-site scamming is scamming,and the refund show guilt itself...
Try to contact Mary,i bet there is misunderstanding,but still if you can't fix your problems with debate you can always use http://www.sythe.org/report-scammer/ filling the full requirements about reporting scammer.

 

Yeah PA calls you to confirm all your info its very very hard to chargeback them, and like the OP said that wouldn't be fair.

Honestly Mary-fan would normally be 100% at fault for this and should be responsible of reimbursement but proving that her worker cleaned you out can be difficult, technically someone who isn't even involved in this trade could have gotten your password or you could of had a friend clean your account out then try to make this claim, obviously you didn't do that but you see what i mean, it's hard to prove mary's worker was at fault and or you werent, i would just try to make sure you don't leave your wealth accessible when people use your account and i hope this works out for you ~ GL
