OutLook On Obama

Ok i earlier made a thread saying Obama was horrible and whatever. Honestly just to Start a discussion because i was bored. It did make me seem Racist. Which i am not in any way shape or form. i am 25% Puerto Rican which Makes me party Minority.

I Honestly Supported Obama. I didnt like how dumb Sarah Palin was. I was happy to see that Obama was the winner of this years election.

The only thing that kinda pisses me off is how Some Black people act about the Whole Election. A president is suppose to be a proper role model for the united states. He honestly doesnt have any power. You could say he does but ALmost everything he does has to be overlooked by Congress. Some of these black people No nothing at all about Politics and they Just think its cool that hes HALF black. Do all ofus White people Flip out when a white person makes it into jail lmao. or if they make it into the NBA. honestly. THey should learn some things before dancing around in the hallways and screaming and wearing shirts with his face on it.

I do think its kind of Rediculas.

 

This is a big step for the African American race. They have every right to be exited seeing as the US was a segregated nation not even 50 years ago. It was a place where black people couldnt even eat at the same resturant white people ate at.

Think about that...

He is probably going to be the best thing that has happened to the US since Kennedy.

ok ever heard of the Black Panthers? They did the same things. maybe not as bad but still. same stuff happened. and no. i dont think they should have reasons to be proud. they have no idea what tehre being proud of. just because some1 thats half white and half BLACK. so pretty much we cood say hes white and not black.... and mexicans/chinese/indians.. all races have been discriminated agaisnt in some way and u dont seee them acting like animals.. The president is the most power person in the US government. You really have no idea what your taking about. For one, he controls all of our armed forces and can tell them to do ANYTHING he wants... He can use his executive power to do things WITHOUT congress... He handles relations with other countries and does WAY more than you could ever think.

People are all excited for some stupid reason. O wow! He is black! The reason he was is because he is black, but anyways. I really do not like him a lot, but who cares...

 

Actually you're wrong, but I won't go to in depth. He can only command our troops without congress approval for a short time. His executive powers run through congress, and if what you're saying is true we essentially live in a communist dictatorship.

 

No, he is THE COMMANDER IN CHIEF. He controls the military and can do what he wants with them. If he needs more funding for the military, then he must go to congress and ask them to give him more. If congress declares war, then he gets even more power, money ect.

Many people are thinking that he will use his executive power to change some things immediately. I had never heard of this until this election when the media was talking about it and how bushed used it.

You have no idea what communism is he seems, as giving the president these things does not make the US a communist country at all.

And an army that revolves around one persons complete control is an essential part of a dictatorship. It doesn't make up the whole idea of a dictatorship but is definitely a part of one.

The presidents commander in chief abilities more shine through when war is declared, which can ONLY happen through congress.

Dictatorship is basically one person or a small group of people being in absolute power in a country. You were saying a communist dictatorship, which is much different than if you just said dictatorship.

Did I not say that? The USA is not at war with Iraq, nor anyone right now. Bush went in without congress declaring war which is why he had to keep asking for more money.

 

It fascinates me how the old appeals to race are still running strong in the United States.

He could only do that for a very limited time until congressed approved and declared war. In your original post you insinuated that he could do that as much, and for as long as he wanted.
