OSRS - The Future

What is everyone's opinion on RS3 in 2018? I have a couple points I'd like to share that make the game feel a little bit useless to me, despite the game being gorgeous. I believe that OSRS is the future of Jagex, and if they invested in an optional graphical option for improved graphics as well as useful low-mid level content, they would have a very appealing game to completely brand new players. I feel with the current graphical content they just don't quite attract brand new players who have never played before, but other than that it is solid.

Jagex has improved on the botting situation, both good and bad for different types of players. Jagex has way more players playing OSRS than RS3, I logged into RS3 the other day and it was super dead. Jagex has an excellent base with OSRS the way it is, especially coming out on all forms of mobile, and I think that OSRS is just completely going to be the future of the Jagex gaming industry unless they create a whole new game.

What are thoughts on OSRS and where it's going? It doesn't seem to be dying any time soon.

Yeah OSRS player base is solid and with full release of mobile around the corner it will only grow.

In my opinion the main issue with OSRS becoming far more active with each day is the following:

Jagex is owned by some Chinese company and we can't tell how satisfied this company will be with the new revenue number. More people are playing 07, this means more bonds are being purchased, however this also means the money that was flowing in from RS3 MTX is going downhill.

I honestly believe MTX coming into OSRS is inevitable down the road and when that happens I'm not sure what effect it will have on the game.

 

I think people fail to understand, if the true owner is happy in general. Then they'll leave the operation to the original company. Jagex are just owned by another company, don't mean they're going to get screwed by it.

 

I don't know man. A lot of these company takeovers end up in the new owner milking the customer base to it's fullest based on the ones I've seen thus far.

I feel like these companies that buy others out and venture into sectors they have 0 experience or knowledge about end up making wrong decisions, due to profit being their main focus, instead of brand development. This might not be the case with Jagex though, only future can tell.
