What are the ideal "odds staker" stats vs maxed melees? Stats that people won't be hesitant to 1.1x, yet won't put me at too big of a disadvantage.

Also, is there a detailed guide on using a Hasta? Is that still a thing? I can't find any YouTube guides.

Is DWH a thing? My understanding of it is, if the other person has pid, you pull out the DWH and hit once since you have an extra tick or something. Can anyone go into detail on how that works?

I know there are some pros on here so that's why I'm asking. Thanks in advance homies, love you

Regarding the hasta, basically you see who has pid, if they have pid you pull out hasta when theyre about to hit you to lose a hit, since you don't have pid anyway

I thought you were supposed to switch it on and off between whip hits like punch/block in Boxing back in the day?

The ideal stats for the average (inexperienced) staker is a maxed main. Until you really know what you're doing you won't be very efficient at staking with odds.

Not to mention, there are at least a handful of barriers to entry when it comes to entering the odds-staking market.

People that know, wont tell you. and not trying to be egotistical or arrogant, but you probably don't have the money to have a 1.1xer.
Why do you say that? I can do 100k stakes and profit on a 1.1xer. I bought a very good odds calculator yesterday and played with stats and finally have a good idea of what stats I'll need, but I don't understand why you think I need tons of money to be able to do it. 1B vs 1.1B is the same % ROI as 1M vs 1.1M stakes. I'm not doing this as a job, I'm doing this for fun. And I think I definitely have the bank required to do so, unless you know something I don't know.

I'm very curious what the barriers you're talking about are, can you elaborate please?

Thanks for the posts everyone. I've been staking religiously since 2006 or so, but recently took a long break and am now getting back into it to learn that people are ridiculous with their odds. People that I have a 2.5% edge on (so 1.1x is break-even) want me to 2x them and I don't understand how they make any money at all doing this, there's no way people are dumb enough to do that. I've played with stats and my goal stats will leave me with a 46% winrate vs maxed mains, and the stats are low enough that I think most people will 1.3x or better.

I may have taken a break from staking/OSRS, but odds are something I'll always be familiar with thanks to my poker history. You don't need to treat me like some idiot trying to get into staking haha

The whole reason 1.1xers get stakes is because 1. they call BIG stakes. and 2. Any maxed main is going to laugh at you as 90% of the section can find a stake 1-100m pretty easily, there would be no reason to x you for 100k-1M

To name a few:
- Starting Capital
- Other stakers reporting / tweeting you to Jmods (You will get banned even if you've never even botted/rwt'd on an account)
- Other stakers stealing your stakes
- Awareness (Knowing current scam/glitch methods)

That second one is interesting, do they do that because they're mad they lost? And Jagex bans you for odds staking, or do they players make up some bullshit to get you banned to get back at you? I've never heard of that, that's pretty scary. Thanks for the heads up.

Starting capital isn't a problem, and unless there are glitches out that I don't know about, neither is awareness. That reporting thing is kinda freaking me out though.

I'm fine with waiting an hour between stakes, it's what I'm doing currently anyways since my account is lower level and has some unique stats. With my goal stats people will definitely be willing to x me. 89-97-99 99 hp puts me at a 47% chance of winning, they only have a 3% edge and I think when dumb people see 89 attack they'll have no problem 1.3-1.5xing, but I could be wrong. I guess we'll find out eventually.

Regardless, thanks everyone for the info.

Can anyone go in-depth on how hastas/DWH works? And whether or not DWH still gives an advantage in certain situations?

Well, sometimes. However, the primary purpose of doing so would be to increase one's own market share by getting the competition banned. I.E. if you get other stakers banned there is a smaller chance of someone with money staking someone that isn't you.

I don't know if you think you're the only one at the arena, or whats going on lmao, but your "unique" account has been made countless times, and theres always others who will be offering more fair stakes/ect. I don't see the point of making one of these to do little amounts.. You can get better odds on an inside account with nowhere near the amount of time put into the account as your 10 off.
I can't tell if you're trying to be helpful or just trying to be a dick, but regardless you seem to think I'm doing this as a business. I'm doing this for fun, I loved staking as a kid and I want to enjoy it again as an adult. By unique I mean it's not the usual 96-97-99 odds stakers you see around everywhere. But you're not being very helpful, just pessimistic and condescending lol. I don't care if I go to the duel arena and lose money, it's the thrill of it that's fun.

I've done my research and calculations, I'm making my staker and playing it regardless of whether or not you think I'll be successful. I don't care if I'm successful or not, like I said it's about the fun. Sorry that I'm not in your league when it comes to staking King Never Dice

I'm trying to save you from wasting your time.. But whatever you can sit there and waste your time if you don't wanna take advice.
I'm taking advice, that's why this thread. But I'm making my staker and I'm going to stake, so "you're not special and you're wasting your time" is not relevant advice in my opinion. My account's already further than 50% done, so I'm not gonna say "oh okay guess staking's not for me" and I'm not gonna max my account and flip coins for $200 at a time because I can do that in dicing threads/other ways without taking the time to train an account. But thank you for your attempted advice.

That is advice, telling you what you're doing is a waste of time, and a differnt staker that would take 1/4th of the time to be made is more profitable. What you're doing is "flipping coins regardless if you think 2.5% is a HUGE EDGE. I didn't tell you to not stake, i didn't imply that you're doing this as a business. I'm saying it doesn't make sense to do what you've said you're going to do. Which was do 100k-1M stakes, on that account.
I never said I was doing 100k-1m stakes lmao. I used the 1M thing as an example, saying that 1.1M vs 1M is the same % ROI as 1.1B vs 1B. I will more than likely be doing 100-200M stakes. But no, I don't count "you're wrong" as advice. "You're wrong, do this instead: ______" is cool. But at the moment you're not being helpful, as only one of your posts have addressed the questions asked.

That makes sense, pretty shitty thing for them to do but I can see how that makes sense now. Does this happen often? Has it happened to you? Does your account get unbanned afterwards?

It happens on a daily basis nowadays. It's happened to me and just about everyone else numerous times. I never got banned on many accounts but I've quit since then. In recent times tweets have been really effective at clearing out the arena. In the last month around 100 maxed x'er accounts and ~100-200b of staker gold has been banned.

Wooooow. Thank you for the heads up. I guess that's the benefit of doing small 100-200M stakes, not as big of a target on my head haha. You'd think Jagex would realize what's going on and stop doing it, but they're not really known for having their shit together.
