Def Pures - still a thing?

I've been seeing mixed opinions on RS about def pures. I initially started mine so that I wouldn't die while skilling, although WT has been rough with the rolled hits on higher HP. Plus, it takes forever to train since it's basically like splashing mage except 4xp/hit (3-6k xp/hr) so super slow.

Other than PKing or flexing low combat / high gear, have you found any real uses for def pures ?

 

Novelty, mini games are fun, Rc with eternal glory if your staying 35 cb, chins, dfs speccing bots, pet grind once 75 def

 

Yeah I started by not wanting to die while skilling in certain areas, now it's definitely more novelty. Also, i thought eternal glory didnt help much?

 

I feel that accounts (not necessarily zerks) with some defence levels are fun to play on. It gives you the room to do some bosses whilst enjoy pking

To be honest I think these make for fun mage pures. Especially now with more mage related gear for pking and pvm all you really gotta worry about is HP.

 

Def pures are weak

 

def pures are very strong account once you find out the weaknesses and strong points + turning the weaknesses in strenghts

they are very good at skilling anywhere in the wilderness as well as transporting goods and valuebles in between accounts and holding supplies , furthermore excellent pkers and LURES for pkers in the black chin area, myself i hunt black chinchompas with them in full justiciar + i have a pk team on standby and a pure , regularly low lvl dbowers come at me and 1shot them basically with a dfs and get some loot cause they are braindead animals, its so funny like some people attack you and instantly regret it and run away, some people see $$$ and attack you and then u call the pkers to ur world and they get fucked so hard, i basically make 1m-1,5m/hr with chins 1-2ticking them and i get splits from pk's and a lot of fun, people cant resist the armour and wanna get it from you, for weaknesses mage is a obvious thing thats why i have a high magic resistance switchup instead or heavy armour cause they give negative mage defense, i use also 43 prayer for the protection prayers and +10% defense boost prayer which helps alot and would get me on 43 combat instead of 36 which is still very safe + i have many escape routes in case shit hits the fan most popular the hobgoblins just west of the chinchompas, as a def pure when u hit one, u cant kill them and wait out teleblocks while in combat and insult people while they tryhard, + when u walk out of the wilderness with pkers on ur ass like a badass u can keep swearing at them and make them feel weak and pathetic and they rage its so funny, u can do many things, + ur the obby maulers and low lvl pures biggest nightmare xD

you hit 1's 2's depending on ur gear + poison 6 + dfs hits 25 if u time everything u can make a sick knockout , but u should know ur weaknesses, u should have a few people to bodyguard you which is pretty easy to find cause pkers love a lure like a dfs tank to PM them some targets and get kills

other then fashionscape and skilling and have a unique throphy account is nice and feels good

so theres lot of uses other then the fact u can look fancy and wear cool armour as a cb 36 with 75 def and 64 hp

 

Like many have said, they're great for black chins and also for looting at revs/wilderness clan wars. If you can track down when 2 clans are fighting, you can make a nice profit while watching them pk. Pretty fun account to own and very easy to train, just takes time to level!

 

I've Seen Quite a Few Obby Tanks Coming out the Woodworks at GE PvP lately. Aswell as a few 75 def DFS spec pkers. But most are just novelty builds, kind of like a 15cb prayer acc with nothing else. More of a flex account than anything.

yes, I've seen a lot of them around and have one myself, I think they look amazing

 

they're just one of those sort of 'novelty' pures as far as I know. not much use for it other than the uniqueness.

Not as common but there are often clan clashes in rev cape, you can come out with couple mills

 

yes. but if a clan decides to attacks you, chances are, you're going to be pretty dead anyway. I'd rather use a level 3 so at least only low-level pures can attack you.
