OSRS in HD/Graphics update?

Would anyone like to see OSRS graphics updated? If so do you think this actually has a chance of happening?
Personally i would prefer it if they brought the graphics up to the HD version of the game. Imo it was the best version.

I agree it looks nice, but the premise is similar with Rs3. I like the oldschool look for what it is now. I wouldn't want to see osrs forced into it like it was for Rs3. A separate server would be cool.

I wonder, how many osrs users would make the switch if it did come into fruition?

 

It’s probably even possible to have it both ways, same server, different modes. (I could be wrong)

If only the graphics would be changed and not the servers or mechanics then the player base that’s nostalgic about it now wouldn’t care and just keep it oldschool. I believe some youtuber made the comparison to minecraft and switching shaders/materials for another look, not to affect gameplay.

 

I would like a 100% optional graphical update, 2007 graphics, 2011 ish (HD era) and some new graphics on that new graphics engine!

 

2 things may happen, 1 it could be a toggleable option depending on how jagex rolls with it, 2 separate client with the HD graphics on that client.

osrs is not gaining new players because the game is stuck in 2007, the creator of this update wants to see new life in gielinor.

-edit. just thought on this, not possible to have a toggleable option on it, as the engine osrs is in is java and what totty is working on is csharp "i think"

 

you are semi correct, its possible with 1 server, but all you have to do is have a new Ultra-HD client.
