Oscar Preditctions

[Quatakai]

Anyone else excited for this sunday?

Best Picture Nominees

• The Artist
• The Descendants
• Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close
• The Help
• Hugo
• Midnight In Paris
• Moneyball
• The Tree Of Life
• War Horse

Here are my predictions for each major category.

Best Actor/Actress

A close call, but I'm guessing Viola Davis will win with her work in the Help. Although, I would like to see George Clooney win it for his acting in The Descendants.

Best Director

Martin Scorcese for directing my favorite movie of those nominated for Best Picture, Hugo. (Not quite on par with The Departed, but you should definitely check it out.)

Best Picture

Although I'd like to see Hugo win, I'm sure Best Picture will be given to The Artist (Which is the first nomination of a feature length black and white film since 1927)

Only movie I really had a problem with being nominated for Best Picture was The Tree of Life, was not all that interesting and I would have liked to see Super 8 in the running for best picture instead.

Anyone have any thoughts/predictions for this Sunday?

If you're asking about when the Oscars are going to be held, they've been and gone.

Best picture: The Artist
Best actor in a leading role: Jean Dujardin (The Artist)
Best actress in a leading role: Meryl Streep (The Iron Lady)
Best supporting actor: Christopher Plummer (Beginners)
Best supporting actress: Octavia Spencer (The Help)
Best animated feature film: Rango
Best cinematography: Hugo

I'll be honest, I'm gutted that Rooney Mara didn't get best leading actress. She was phenomenal in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.
