Opinions on 'Display Names'

I support display names to an extent. I like the idea of getting a name that you would rather have (if you actually still have the first acc you've made, I'm pretty sure everyone is always gay). BUT I do not like the widespread abuse of it.

For example, 1337K1LL3R changes his name to like 1M D4 B3ST, it's like why even bother if both of your names are shit? And then people switch between several shit names and it just gets confusing.

The "second chance" idea of choosing another username is good, but it should not be something people do every month, and it should ALWAYS say "Last known as ORIGINAL NAME" instead of the last display name.


Hopefully I won't get flamed for this post, lol.

 

I like them. My original login name was total crap, but now I've managed to snag a decent display name, and my account is better off for it.

Hate them. So does Rico. We already discussed display names a while ago, they pretty much ripped shit apart in the name market.

 

Display names were, in my opinion, a very good idea and one that has been requested since Runescape became popular. People with names they created at 10 years of age (e.g. me: Devil_boy325) finally have the oppurtunity to make a name that has some sort of meaning or humor to it.

Those who collect and merchant rare names were hit hard though, as rare names really aren't as valuable as they used to be.

 

this update really does not affect me because i will never name change on any of my account unless i buy one and i literally hate the name. my main will continue to have the same name , i mean i picked it, and i liked it then. my name can stay

i think its lame. the display names should only be available once. now all the kids are getting names that should have been taken a long time ago by the old school players

 

i've managed to get lots of good display names on accounts ive sold in last few months but i have 3 awsome log in rare names so im good for names for but yeah i think it a good idea i mean why not!!
