Oldbie Scripters

Well, I decided to open this thread for old scripters that where around since Auto Rune and or S.C.A.R. Personally, I've been around since Auto Rune, and when S.C.A.R came out I thought it was heaven. Thus I remember rscheata trying to take it over with their own reflection bots, which it did in a way over a period of time where all the botters turned to rscheata besides ol' S.C.A.R. perhaps there are still people out there that still use S.C.A.R? I only remember S.C.A.R Divi being the last version released.

Well, onto the next topic. As Auto Rune died, and S.C.A.R rose back up is there something besides S.C.A.R that I was missing out on at the time? Because that's all I knew about. I got decently well scripting in S.C.A.R's native language, which is why after everyone turned to BCEL/Other reflection bots (iBot) I was devastated. All that time put in just to know me and a handful of others did not leave the scripting community.

I still remember the day when everyone was using yew scripts and auto-buyers for shops. Personally I remember buying mills in feathers with multiple bots after scripting an account changer for my feather buyer. That was personally fun. Also some more random scripts like a newt runner, willow chopper, worked on a Green Dragon bot but it was quite complicated to detect if you where being attacked by another player or Green Dragon.

After awhile of scripting my own bots, I decided to take a break and assist others. This increased my knowledge on scripting in the native language, which is the main reason why I did it. Personally taking a look at other people's work can teach you more than a book could. Knowing pre-scripted material (if you are already familiar with the language) can teach you so much in so little time. This assisted me greatly on the Green Dragon bot I was trying to script a long time ago.

*Note: Not leaching, just taking scripting methods as teaching tools along with tutorials for newer methods to maximize your script*

Knowing there are not many people that still use S.C.A.R from what I know, I'd like to ask the people who have back then. Do you think S.C.A.R can be re-used if you take the time to script your own anti-ban, anti-randoms, and your own script on top of that. Would it be as detectable as a BCEL bot? That's one question I've been highly curious about. Since S.C.A.R is out-dated, it's possible to script something amazing in there if you update the script every now and then to make it a great reflection bot. If not, what's the most updated language to script these bots in, and with what client? (If you don't have a client specified, you can just script it in the editor then save it and run it as a reflection.)

Post your opinions, thoughts, ideas, or stories. I'd like to hear from some ol' scriptwriters on Sythe like myself. Hope to hear some replys ^_^

SCAR is still running at Villavu.com, and it now has reflection built-in.
I am an iBot user myself, but I did wrote a willow chopper for SCAR a while back.
SCAR is better than ever, and actually has less bans than iBot.

 

Wow, Wizzup? is till a member of the SRL forums? I remember him years ago. Yeah willow bots where quite common with S.C.A.R as each beginning script was a willow or power cutter >_< Does it really have less bans than iBot? That's quite surprising! I'm sure the interface has changed greatly as well.

I was an iBot user for awhile, even tried scripting in it but it was not the same as what I'm used to :'( If S.C.A.R is better than ever then why don't people use it more than iBot/RSbot? Just out of curiosity.

 

People don't use SCAR because people are stupid.
You have to know how to use SVN, so that gets rid of 99% of cheaters.
So few people using it is the reason why it owns.
A certain banned member of this forum used SCAR to get a maxed pure with a few other 99 skills.

 

The SVN built into S.C.A.R? I found that quite easy over a period of months. Yes - it took me awhile to learn, but I grew to love it. I do see Java is a more open language to learn than SVN.

Knowing it's based on delphi/pascal c c++, the scripting language is quite unique unlike most botting programs. Though I'm used to it, not Java. I mean I can script in Java but I'm not used to doing so.

I might actually go back to S.C.A.R now that I think about it. I was told it was more detectable than anything else out there. Which in the back of my mind I wondered, but knew it was total bullshit, you know? I used to bot in S.C.A.R for the longest time with my own scripts without a problem and now they come out with a newer reflection bot of S.C.A.R that just tickles me. Thanks for informing me.

How long have you been botting/scripting for if I may ask?

 

I only botted with it a few times and I never released my script either. I am just an iBot whore at heart, even though I know that SCAR is better.
