Fantastic guide mate. Well written with good information, although if you don't mind me asking - what are your sources? It would be good to know. I know I'm being nit-picky right now, but it's always good to have reliable sources to back up your information.

I'll be honest and say that I don't have any "hardcore sources." However, most of the information I got was from my own college admissions experience, and from reading a lot of posts and articles on talk.collegeconfidential.com and other college admissions websites. If you go on collegeconfidential more and more, you will see that a lot of the information you will learn is in my guide. I hope this helps!

Valedictorians with perfect SATS are far and few between considering <1000 people a year get a 2400. But well admissions is a crapshoot, with the vast influx of people who are qualified for such schools. Also even if you get to the USAMO, you still need to be able to show proficiency in your schoolwork(3.5ish). And lol at the college confidential, there are some people who know their stuff on there but most are kids who believe that a 2350 needs to be retaken since it matters that much in admissions... And I feel Michael would be wanting to go to that other school a few miles away from Harvard for comp sci/engineering...

 

Don't see why people are flaming you...I may take some of the stuff you wrote into consideration next year even though I have no intentions of going to Harvard
