And no, it's not for real. He did give an ETA of up to 12 hours or something, and that was 7 hours ago, meaning there's 5 left, but I wouldn't expect nothing until the morning at the earliest.

If you know ANYTHING about web servers, you would know its just not that simple. He didn't say he's 100% sure it will be done that quickly. Its usually a hope. I deal with clients all the time where I have to change something, and depending on their host or server, the DNS can update within an hour or it's taken 48 hours.

As far as I'm able to tell, he's still getting DDoS'd (as a few times out of my million refreshes, the site gave an actual error that comes up when they get hit with the DDoS). Because he's just switching, I assume he's not sure whether the DDoS protection he's getting is actually solid; there are hundreds of websites that think they are protected from DDoS when in fact they're just protected against a script kiddie with a botnet. That means that it could possibility take much longer. Then there's the fact that his traffic will jump 5x with wBot down, and not only does he need DDoS protection, but he needs a great server to handle the bandwidth.

I want this up as much as everyone else, but taking the ETA literal is worthless. There's been no progress in the last 7 hours and he hasn't given any updates, so you should take that as morning at the earliest. If he could have it up now, I'm sure he would -- he's losing tons of money not being up. Like i first said, it's not that simple.

 

Same thing that happened with wbot. They promised us they'd update us on monday, only to find out they got shut down by jagex...lmao

 

I agree completely. I want to believe his ETA has a promise to it, but when it comes to websites and hosting, there's not much predictability he can do.

 

I think we can all expect it to come back in the next 3 days. Lets not keep our hopes up yet on the 12 hour thing, as I doubt its true.

 

You and everybody else. It isn't bioengineering. Fix > forward your update > DNS usually updates within a few hours.

They are switching to a secure server, so it is likely that it'll be stable. An ETA is far from worthless.

 

It really is when you don't know what's going on. You don't know how complex his current server is. You don't know how big his databases may be. It may be running a different MySQL Version resulting in database errors. He isn't switching some shitty HTML website, it's a lot more complex than you think to successfully switch from an entire server -- I couldn't even begin to imagine how much harder it must be when you're getting DDoS'd the entire time.

people charged back should be banned from the site a number of people have asked for refunds and was happy to refund them all
